How to Get to Causeway Bay
If you’re coming from Hong Kong International Airport, here are some ways to reach Causeway Bay.
Via Airport Express + MTR: Riding the Airport Express and MTR is the fastest way to reach Causeway Bay. Just take the Teal Airport Express bus until you get to Hong Kong Station. After that, walk towards Central Station, take the Island Line (MTR) towards Chai Wan, and stop at Causeway Bay Station.
Via Airport Bus or Public Bus: If you want a direct ride to Causeway Bay, you can take the Airport Bus A11 or Public Bus E11A and stop at popular Causeway Bay areas like Hennessy Road and Victoria Park.
Via Airport Bus + MTR: If you wish to save a bit, we recommend you take one of the S Airport Buses and get off at Tung Chung Station. Next, ride the Tung Chung Line (orange line) and stop at Hong Kong Station. After that, transfer to the Island Line (MTR) towards Chai Wan and stop at Causeway Bay Station.

TUVE is a modern boutique restaurant discreetly tucked away on a lineup of bakeries and restaurants near Victoria Park. It’s literally a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it type of entrance, so here’s a tip: look out for the chic and sleek black bamboo scaffolding adorning a gated entrance.
This hotel only features 66 rooms, but it’s worth the wait to book here because each minimalist room is designed to have floor-to-ceiling windows so guests can appreciate Hong Kong’s skyline and scenic views.

If you’re looking for an affordable yet upper-middle-range hotel in Causeway Bay, we recommend Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong. It’s set just across Victoria Park and has a modern and sleek interior furnished with quirky art and decor, so you can’t miss it.
The room rates here are very cheap but do note that they’re on the small side, and the rates don’t include breakfast.
Nonetheless, the rooms are still equipped with minibars and electric kettles, so you can still enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Rosedale also has an onsite restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you don’t have to go out to get some munchies.

Nestled right in the center of the busy Shin Hing Street in Causeway Bay is a popular hamburger joint – Little Bao.
Now, you might think that Little Bao is your ordinary greasy and fatty burger joint, but guess what? It’s a Chinese and American fusion restaurant serving handmade and fluffy Chinese buns filled with meat or veggie meat doused in Asian-inspired flavors.
Little Bao is led by a well-known Chinese Canadian chef, Chef May Chow. So, don’t be surprised to see tons of tourists crammed into this tiny restaurant just to get a taste of the hyped Pork Belly Bao and Fried Chicken Bao with some Truffle Fries on the side.
If you still have room for dessert, you shouldn’t miss their dessert baos – Salt Ice Cream Bao and Green Tea Ice Cream Bao.

Hotpot is one of the classic Chinese comfort foods, so if you’re craving a sip of its flavorful broth when you’re in Causeway Bay, just drop by Lau Haa. Lau Haa Hotpot Restaurant is a sprawling retro-themed restaurant that is reminiscent of Hong Kong’s old-school diners.
This hotpot restaurant offers more than 20 types of tasty broth bases, so you can explore different flavors and maybe find your new favorite go-to hotpot base!
There’s also a variety of hotpot ingredients, but we recommend you try the hand-cut local cattle meat and Premium Australian Wagyu meat.
Besides that, you can also find a variety of rare local dishes on their menu. You can kick things up a notch by trying new side dishes like ox tongue and sea urchin dumplings.

Din Tai Fung is a popular Bib Gourmand Michelin restaurant in Causeway Bay. And just like its Taiwan flagship, Din Tai Fung’s Classic Xiao Long Bao is the main cause of the long queues in this branch.
Once you get a taste of this small steamed bun’s hot, savory, and soupy pork filling, you’ll come back for more. The baozi’s skin is just thick enough to hold the filling together and also thin enough to pop with just a nibble.
Of course, there are other popular picks on their menu. Make sure you try their Beef Brisket Noodle Soup and Drunken Chicken.
Meanwhile, if you’re vegetarian, you’ll probably enjoy their Mushroom Vegetarian Dumplings and Vegetarian Noodle Soup. Another thing that we like about Din Tai Fung is their glass kitchen. You see, while you’re waiting for your food, you can watch chefs and cooks in action!

You can’t miss Victoria Park when you’re exploring Causeway Bay. You see, this public park occupies more than 19 hectares of land in the district.
Aside from the expansive lawn and landscaped gardens, you can also access a swimming pool as well as a few tennis courts, soccer pitches, and children’s play areas inside the park.
That’s why it’s a popular hangout spot for the whole family and those who want to have fun by playing a range of outdoor sports and activities.
The best time to visit Victoria Park is when big-scale local events happen here. For example, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the whole park transforms to fit the theme, and you’ll be able to witness tons of lantern displays.
Witness the Noonday Gun

Every single day at noon, a cool and iconic antique gun is fired in Causeway Bay. This gun is Jardine’s Noonday Gun, and don’t fret because it’s not about anything dangerous like protests or wars.
In fact, firing the noonday gun was more of a tradition in Hong Kong that outlasted world wars and a governmental handover.
The lore behind it is varied, but the most popular version is perhaps the one that states that the gun is fired daily at noon to ensure that the clocks of the ships anchoring in the harbor and the people around the area are synced. Well, it’s quite practical, right? There are still no smartphones, after all!
If you want to witness the one-shot Noonday Gun Salute, you must pass through a tunnel under the World Trade Center and exit into a basement car park. Make sure you’re there before or precisely 12 PM, so you don’t miss it.
Meanwhile, if you just want to take a picture, you can come anytime because the area is open 24 hours a day.
Visit Tin Hau Temple

There are over 100 Tin Hau Temples in Hong Kong, and what makes the one in Causeway Bay unique is that it’s the only one that floats!
However, in October 2023, it found a new home and was moved from its mooring for it to be more accessible to worshippers. It’s now located in Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter.
This historical building is a serene escape from the bustling streets of Causeway Bay. It features an intricate 18th-century temple architecture that has been restored to be a fully functional space and monument.
Most of the visitors to Tin Hau Temple are local fishermen or seafarers who pray to the Goddess of the Sea for safety at sea and prosperity throughout the year. Aside from that, many tourists flock here to marvel at the treasure trove of historical relics inside, like a bell that dates all the way back to 1747.
Bring the kiddos to Hong Kong Central Library

A trip to Causeway isn’t just for fun. It can be educational too. You see, the largest and biggest public library in the entire city, Hong Kong Central Library, is in this district.
It’s not like any other run-of-the-mill library because this whole library is spread across 12 floors and packed with a whopping 2.5 million books! Due to its vast academic and literary archives, it’s considered the national library of Hong Kong.
That’s why if you plan to take your kiddos on library trips to help expose them to the value of reading and learning, Hong Kong Central Library is an excellent starting point. Here, you can dive into a wide range of books, multimedia items, and exhibits with separate floors for children, teens, and adults.
Where to Shop in Causeway Bay
Jardine’s Crescent Market

Jardine’s Crescent Market is like Hong Kong Island’s mini version of the ever-famous Ladies Market. It’s a little open-air market that showcases budget-friendly fashion brands and items that are mostly marketed to teens and young adults.
It’s very easy to spot because you just need to veer off to your left if you’re coming from SOGO, and you’ll stumble upon the quaint market in no time.
Well, it might not look as big and full-blown as the street markets in Central, but this roadside bazaar is definitely worth checking out because of the variety of products and items you can find here.
At the entrance, you can find several stalls selling clothes, fashion watches, accessories, and beauty products at bargain prices. As you walk along further, you can also spot handbags, household goods, souvenirs, and even textiles.
SOGO Causeway Bay

Want to splurge a bit more and treat yourself to a shopping spree in Causeway Bay? Come visit SOGO! It’s the largest Japanese department store in the city, and it features a wide array of products ranging from Japanese, European, and local brands.
This mall practically sells everything imaginable, like apparel, shoes, jewelry, leather goods, skincare products, and even home and audio equipment. Besides that, the store has a supermarket where you can buy fresh produce.
Some of the high-end and premium brands you can find inside SOGO are Prada, Chanel, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Dior, and Viviene Westwood. Anyway, if you prefer to get good and discounted deals, we recommend you visit SoGo’s Event Hall, situated on the 9th floor, so you can check out various clearance sales and deals.
Island Beverley

If large shopping malls or crowded street markets overwhelm you, Island Beverley can be your go-to shopping spot in Causeway Bay.
This retail wonderland is renowned for its hundreds of independent “cube shops,” which literally translates to a space that’s not bigger than a thousand square feet filled with all sorts of products and items.
Even if Island Beverley is just a four-story shopping mall, it doesn’t fall short when it comes to variety because, inside the cube shops, you can find an assortment of Korean clothing, Japanese products, handbags, accessories, toys, artisan gems, and local goods.
Here’s a little insider tip – the store is already open at 10 AM, but if you really want to catch all the action, visit around 2 PM. By that time, most stores will already be up and running, so you won’t miss out on deals.
