Imbibing the elixirs at Varga Lounge is akin to embarking on a liquid journey curated by alchemists of mixology. Our taste buds danced to the symphony of carefully crafted cocktails, each sip revealing layers of flavor meticulously assembled. The libations are not mere drinks; they are potions of pleasure, leaving patrons craving an encore.

In the realm of entertainment, Varga Lounge takes the conventional bar experience and elevates it to a new echelon. The inclusion of both strippers and tarot readings might seem an unlikely duo, but here, it’s a harmonious blend of sensuality and mystique. The dancers’ performances are a mesmerizing choreography, and the tarot readings add an enigmatic allure, turning an ordinary night into an extraordinary spectacle.

Security is paramount, and Varga Lounge doesn’t merely meet expectations; it surpasses them with a vigilant grace. Our safety was assured without intruding on the enjoyment of the evening. The bouncers are not just sentinels; they are custodians of an ambiance that thrives on the fusion of thrill and tranquility.

While the experience at Varga Lounge is undoubtedly a cut above the rest, it doesn’t come with a prohibitive price tag. The cost of indulging in this sensory escapade is surprisingly reasonable, given the lavishness of the offerings. At Varga Lounge, opulence meets accessibility, making it a haven for those who seek an exquisite night without breaking the bank.

The Aubrey is a modern izakaya bar in Hong Kong. Taking inspiration from both the East and West, the Aubrey gives customers a one-of-a-kind experience. 

One of the things we like about The Aubrey is its ambience. The bar combines the aesthetics of a Western bar with Japanese accents, which may look striking to some.

Regardless, the bar has comfortable seating and a relaxed vibe, making it a lovely place to hang out for drinks or dine with friends.

Another thing we like about The Aubrey is its long operating hours. The bar is usually open from noon until 1:00 AM daily, including public holidays.

The thing we like most about the bar, however, is its selection of drinks and cocktails. The Aubrey uses champagne, sake, and other beverages worldwide to make a unique drink that looks and tastes great. 

We also enjoyed the bar’s four-person omakase cocktail service, where the barista will choose and create cocktails for you for a more memorable drinking experience.

The bar also has an extensive menu of ala carte food, lunch, and dinner, which is a plus.

To get better insight into the bar, we talked to some of their customers. These regulars praised the establishment for its friendly staff and managers, great food, and beautiful design.

However, they noted that the staff can sometimes take a while to prepare the drinks and send out the bill, which is a minor inconvenience.

COA is a cocktail bar in Hong Kong known for being featured in the World’s 50 Best Bars. Aside from this, the bar is also known for its extensive menu of drinks.

This menu is COA’s biggest strength and one of the things we like about the bar. COA has a 41-page menu of agave drinks, using different ingredients and spirits that primarily hail from Mexico.

The bar also has a selection of seasonal cocktails that vary each week, making the experience exciting on every visit.

The cocktails that COA serves are incredible and delicious, too, with some being more striking than others. If you cannot make up your mind, you can simply tell the staff your preferences, and they will suggest the best one for you.

Another thing we like about COA is the venue. The bar feels grounded and humble because of the use of wood, bricks, and concrete, rooting it in its Mexican heritage. 

We had the chance to talk to COA’s patrons, and they praised the bar for its delicious drinks, cosy atmosphere, and friendly staff. However, they lamented that the bar is always packed and busy, which may be a result of its popularity.

Aside from always being busy, another of COA’s disadvantages is its high pricing, as a drink could easily set you back $120.

Quinary is a bar in Hong Kong well-known for its beverages that are both aesthetically and gastronomically pleasing. 

Unsurprisingly, one of Quinary’s strengths is its cocktails, which come in different appearances, textures, and tastes. All of these combine into a unique and multisensory experience that we enjoyed.

We appreciated seeing these innovative drinks made and liked the use of different ingredients, such as caviar.

Quinary also has an extensive menu, which is a plus. If you are having a hard time choosing from their 31-page list of food and drinks, we found that their staff would be more than happy to help.

However, these strengths come with a downside. One of the things we had issues with was the bar’s busyness, primarily caused by its popularity.

Customers must make reservations beforehand, and walk-ins are only accepted on Fridays, Saturdays, and the eve of public holidays, making the bar inaccessible for many.

In addition, the bar’s staff might cut your session short to accommodate the long queue. One of the customers we talked to said that after two hours, the workers asked them to leave so that new customers could come in. 

As such, we believe that the Quinary is great for short-term hangouts with friends but not for longer stays.

The Terrible Baby is a bar in Hong Kong that is better than its name suggests. A direct translation of “L’Enfant Terribles,” Terrible Baby stays true to its name by offering a unique, adventurous vibe seen through its menu and motif.

One of the things we like about the bar is the venue itself. Terrible Baby is cosy, nostalgic, and tropical, with the greenery making it feel more comfortable.

The live music also makes the bar more exciting and enjoyable, which is a plus.

We also like the extensive list of drinks the bar offers. Made from a variety of ingredients from all over the world, the drinks served at Terrible Baby feel and taste distinct from each other and the other beverages served at other bars.

We also appreciate the price of these cocktails, as they are more affordable compared to other bars, but the quality seems uncompromised.

The bar also offers a happy hour, which we enjoy since the drinks could drop to $68. However, it is essential to note that these happy hour discounts are only available from Sunday to Thursday.

We had the chance to talk to other customers, and they praised Terrible Baby for the quick, attentive staff, ambience, and drinks. However, they complained about the regularly long queues and waiting time.

DarkSide is a jazz bar in Hong Kong that is reminiscent of clubs of the 20th century. Offering more high-end and rare drinks, DarkSide attracts more sophisticated clients looking for a place to relax.

One of the things we like about DarkSide is its collection of drinks. Although lacking in cocktails, the bar offers aged drinks such as cognacs from 1835 and whiskeys from 1973, unavailable in most other bars in Hong Kong.

As you would expect, these drinks carry quite a hefty price. The cocktails can cost you $170 each, while the rarer spirits could cost you upwards of $1,000, with some even reaching $12,000.

Aside from the drinks, we also enjoyed the ambience of the bar. DarkSide feels luxurious and elegant, and the live jazz band ties it all together to make it feel like you’re in an old-fashioned bar somewhere in the West.

DarkSide also has a balcony for those looking to get fresh air while drinking, which is a plus in our opinion.

We had the chance to talk to other patrons, and they praised the bar for its impressive service, attentive and knowledgeable staff, and sophisticated vibe. 

If you are planning on visiting DarkSide, it is essential to remember to book a reservation as it may be difficult to get in due to the long queue.
