1. Victoria Peak

Also known as The Peak, Victoria Peak is considered as the highest point in all of Hong Kong. Naturally, this has become one of the best spots to see the Hong Kong Skyline, attracting numerous snap-happy visitors.
Here, you can see central Hong Kong, Lamma Island, and Victoria Harbour in its full glory.

Pro tip:
It’s quite easy to get to Victoria Peak. You can choose from among different modes of transportation such as taxi, bus, and the peak tram.
Many prefer taking the bus because it will take you on a scenic route. All you need to do is get on the Bus 15 at the Central Bus Terminus.
Another option is the Peak Tram, which will talk about in a sec! It’s also a great spot to see the Hong Kong skyline.

Another way to get a fantastic view of Hong Kong is by riding the Peak Tram. We find that this is one of the more unique experiences because the 8 to 10 minute trip follows a path that shows you breathtaking views you wouldn’t see elsewhere.
There are 15 to 20 minute intervals between each trip, so if there’s not much of a crowd on the day of your visit, you’ll be able to hop on the tram in no time.
Pro tip:
Be prepared to line up for a long time because there are times when large tour groups would ride the tram. Moreover, they are given a special privilege of riding the tram first.
With that in mind, if you really want to ride the tram without the long wait time, we suggest looking into tours where this is included.
3. Kowloon Peak

If you’re an outdoorsy type of traveler, you might enjoy Kowloon Peak the most. Reaching the Kowloon Peak requires a 7 km long hike if you include Suicide Cliff – which we’ll explain further below.
While it’s not really recommended for beginners, it’s relatively safe and easy for someone who has a bit of an experience. It also has a beautiful view on the top, making the trip worthwhile.
Pro tip:
Most people who go to Kowloon Peak also make their way to Suicide Cliff. Don’t let the name scare you! It only got its name because of how challenging the climb is. To give you an idea, some say it’s one of the most dangerous hikes in Hong Kong.
With that in mind, we suggest climbing your way here only if you’re experienced. Make sure to follow the signs that you see on your way there to make your trip as safe as possible.
4. Hong Kong Observation Wheel

A cool way to witness the beautiful Hong Kong skyline is by viewing it from the Hong Kong Observation Wheel. You can sit back, relax, and focus on appreciating the view and taking photos.
There are 42 gondolas overall and each gondola can fit up to 8 people. If you’re a smaller group, expect to be seated with strangers.
However, you can always buy a ticket for a private gondola, but this one can only fit 5 people. From the height of 60 meters, you’ll be able to see an unparalleled view of Hong Kong and Tsim Sha Tsui.

We suggest catching a ride during sunset for a cinematic experience!
5. Sky Terrace 428

Sky Terrace 428 is currently considered the highest platform where you can view the Hong Kong skyline. It offers a panoramic view of the island so you can easily see all the iconic skyscrapers that paint Hong Kong’s distinct identity.
This is quite famous among tourists, by the way, which is why we consider Sky Terrace 428 worth the visit at least once. It would surely make your Hong Kong trip more memorable.

6 Avenue of Stars

Here’s a more friendly option for people who are scared of heights – Avenue of Stars. You don’t need to go high up to enjoy Hong Kong’s skyline because this one’s just on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
Because of its easy access, you can even get a closer look at the dazzling Hong Kong lights.
The Avenue of Stars is also quite similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame (but with a better view!). There are numerous plaques around this place that showcase a handprint and autograph of several iconic Hong Kong celebrities.
Another highlight to watch out for is the Symphony of Lights show that you can catch every night at 8 PM. You’ll be able to enjoy the view of Victoria Harbour with its spectacular laser display.
Pro tip:
We recommend stopping by the stores around the area, especially if you’re a film buff! Aside from snacks, they also sell film-related merchandise.
7. Star Ferry

A unique way of enjoying the Hong Kong skyline is through the Star Ferry.
There are two different kinds of tours you can book with Star Ferry – the Nighttime Harbour Tour and A Symphony of Lights Harbour Tour. Both are an hour long and will treat you to a cinematic view of Victoria Harbour.
The difference between the two is that the A Symphony of Lights tour offers a unique perspective of the beautiful laser show on the harbour. By the way, the ferry can fit numerous people, so there’s no need to worry about long wait times.
Pro tip:
We highly recommend going for A Symphony of Lights tour instead of the Nighttime one. It’s the best bang for your buck and most people seem to prefer it too!
8. Ozone at Tsim Sha Tsui

This one’s a bit different compared to others on this list. Ozone at Tsim Sha Tsui is actually a rooftop bar in Hong Kong.
To give you an idea on how spectacular the view is from here, Ozone is considered as the highest rooftop bar in the world! You can find it on the 118th floor at the Ritz-Carlton.
Do note however, that there’s no outdoor seating in this bar. Instead, there are huge glass windows where you can view the skyline while you enjoy your meal.
They serve an eclectic mix of different types of dishes from tapas, sushi & sashimi and oysters to burgers, lobsters, and many more. Additionally, they have an extensive selection of drinks you can choose from. It’s a bar, after all.
Pro tip:
We highly recommend getting the truffle mushroom coquettes – basically fried mushroom balls with truffle mayo and parmesan shavings. It’s a great dish to start the night with!

Last but definitely not the least is the Ocean Terminal Deck. Considered a shopping center that also has tons of dining options, this spot indulges its visitor to a 270-degree view of Kowloon, Hong Kong island, and Victoria Harbour.
A few examples of stores you can shop from here are Aesop, BALENCIAGA, Cartier, Estée Lauder, and many more. Meanwhile, there are also plenty of dining options to choose from like Bape Cafe, Da Filippo Trattoria, and such.

We highly recommend swinging by the area during sunset! It looks unbelievable then.
