Anyway, that’s in the past. But because of it, I vowed to help parents with kids plan trips like a pro in the future… because believe me, your child will remember if you brought them a Four Seasons Spa instead of Disneyland.

Disneyland

Let’s talk about a must-do for your young adventurers: Hong Kong Disneyland. This place is a blast for kids and a place where they’ll get to meet their favorite characters like Minnie, Mickey, and all the Disney gang!
You’ve got options for a 1-day or 2-day ticket – perfect for giving your kids an amazing time. There are over 100 attractions, fantastic live shows, and parades throughout the day.
From the mesmerizing We Love Mickey show to the thrilling Space Mountain Roller Coaster, there’s something for every age.
Also, don’t miss the Karibuni Marketplace here. It’s packed with souvenirs your kids can bring back for their friends.
Ocean Park
Operating hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (varies)
Ocean Park is the spot your animal-loving kids won’t want to miss in Hong Kong. Imagine a place that’s part awesome theme park and part zoo.
Your kids are in for a wild time, meeting animals up close and personal! Plus, it has rides like The Hair Raiser that’ll have your kids screaming with excitement (or fright!)
Whether your kids are all about ocean creatures or they’re thrill-seekers looking for crazy rides, Ocean Park’s got everything they’ll love!
Noah’s Ark
Operating hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Noah’s Ark in Hong Kong is the first-ever Bible-themed amusement park with a gigantic, full-size replica of the legendary boat!
Kids can meet life-sized animal figures (all 67 pairs of them!) at the Ark’s Garden. They can also check out cool ancient Bibles, and dive into loads of interactive games that’ll keep them occupied.
This Ark is also a hub for awesome exhibitions and super cool facilities that help you discover nature, culture, and history. The Solar Tower? It lets you and your kids check out the sun’s activity in real-time!
Plus, Noah’s Adventureland is where you’ll find dizzying thrills with its giant swing and 3D giant ladder.
Kung Fu Corner at Kowloon Park
Operating hours: Sunday: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
If your kids are ready to channel their inner Jackie Chan, then Kowloon Park’s Kung Fu Corner is the place to be! Every week, Chinese martial artists put on a cool demo here that’s totally worth checking out.
Not into Kung Fu? No worries! There’s still a ton of fun waiting for your kids at the Children’s and Discovery Playgrounds and the Aviary at the park.
Hong Kong Science Park In Shatin

Got the Hong Kong Heritage Museum on your list but worried it might not be a hit with your kids? Don’t sweat it! They’ve got a special treat waiting for youngsters aged 4 to 8 at the Children’s Discovery Gallery.
They’ve got eight “play zones” that turn learning about nature, history, and archaeology into an exciting adventure.
And here’s the best part – the Hong Kong Toy Story exhibition. There’s also a hands-on area where eager kids can dive right into the fun!
Mai Po Wetlands

Ever heard of a real nature wonderland right here in Hong Kong? The Mai Po Nature Reserve, managed by the awesome folks at the World Wide Fund (WWF), is a hidden gem!

Ride the Ngong Ping 360
The Ngong Ping 360 experience in Hong Kong isn’t just an ordinary ride – it’s an exciting adventure perfect for kids and families!
Spanning a thrilling 5.7-kilometer journey, this ride offers stunning vistas of the South China Sea and the picturesque landscapes of Lantau North Country Park.
And of course, one of the highlights is catching sight of the iconic Tian Tan Buddha! It sure adds a touch of wonder to this already fantastic ride.
Shop the toy streets
Did you know that Hong Kong boasts street markets solely dedicated to toys? It’s an absolute must-do for kids when in the city!
Parents, bring them over to Fuk Wing Street in Sham Shui Po, where you’ll find an array of affordable dolls, balls, cool gadgets, and school supplies available for individual purchases or in bulk.
It’s a fantastic pit stop, especially if you’re already exploring Sham Shui Po.
But wait, there’s more! Make your way to Tai Yuen Street in Wan Chai for an even wider variety of toys, including nostalgic ones that’ll take your kids down memory lane.
Join a traditional Chinese painting workshop

Ride the Mid-Levels Escalator
Riding the Mid-Levels Escalator is a cool adventure, but it might test your kids’ patience a bit. It’s actually the world’s largest outdoor covered escalator, stretching about half a mile long – totally worth a visit!
With numerous entry and exit points, rest spots, and even cafes and shops along the way, you can hop on and off as you please.
Here’s a tip: the escalator changes direction during the day. In the morning until 10:15 AM, it goes downhill for commuters.
After that time, it switches to uphill until midnight, then rests until the next morning. Plan your ride accordingly!
If you really want a challenge, try riding it all the way to the top! Just a heads up, though – it doesn’t go all the way to The Peak.
Experience the Hong Kong Observation Wheel
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel (also known as the Hong Kong Ferris Wheel) offers 20 minutes of pure enjoyment for all ages. As it rotates three times during each experience, it treats you to breathtaking views overlooking Victoria Harbour.
The best moments? Imagine catching the Golden Hour when the sun paints the skyscrapers in stunning hues or during the dazzling Symphony of Lights show.
But truthfully, any time is the perfect time to experience the Hong Kong Observation Wheel.
Hit the parks
Need a breather from the city hustle and tiny hotel rooms? Hong Kong offers spacious parks that are absolute gems! Two parks that are personally tested and recommended: Hong Kong Park and Kowloon Park.
Hong Kong Park is fantastic, especially for families with strollers! It boasts a six-level play area, a greenhouse, and a massive (3,000-square-foot) enclosed bird aviary.
As for Kowloon Park, it’s sprawling across 13.3 hectares. A highlight is the serene Chinese Garden, featuring beautifully manicured spaces, a lotus pond, a cascading rock waterfall, and adorable resident turtles.

The Verandah (Repulse Bay)
