The Best Sham Shui Po Cafes, Handpicked by Our Caffeine-Crazy Team

Let’s make your depresso days a latte better by getting a dose of caffeine and more at our top cafe picks in Sham Shui Po! This bustling neighborhood boasts a robust cafe scene, with great spots for a quick brekkie or some incredible brews.

Ready to check them out? Great, because we’ve already hit the wall on caffeine overdoses finding and picking the best cafes for you!

Cofflow

Website: https://cofflow.company.site/

Location: 2c Wong Chuk Street

Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 10 AM to 6 PM

Contact details: [email protected]

Must-tries: Raw Honey Latte, Espresso, Charcoal Latte

Price: $

Cofflow is a specialty cafe with classic brews and old-school retro interiors. The cafe’s staircase and vintage steel gate are the go-to IG photo spots in this cafe.

Cofflow only uses freshly roasted beans sourced from Ethiopia and Guatemala, so most of its coffees are strong and rich. Their black and white coffee offerings are best paired with their decadent cheesecake and pancake with blueberries.

Anyway, if you’re not a fan of strong coffee shots, don’t worry. Cofflow also serves a good range of tea lattes and organic teas. The Raw Honey Latte and Affogato are our favorites.

Fonji Cafe

Website: https://www.instagram.com/fonji.cafe/

Location: 5號 Maple Street

Operating hours: Tuesday to Sunday – 12 PM to 7 PM, Monday – Closed

Contact details: [email protected]

Must-tries: Fonji Maple Cafe Latte, Yuzu Coffee Mojito Soda, Latte

Price: $

Fonji Cafe exudes a charming and cozy vibe because of its Japanese kissaten (tearoom) interior. Plus, the cat-themed decor scattered around the cafe is also a big hit for people hunting for Instagrammable coffee shops.

With its intimate and quiet setting, it’s a nice retreat amidst the bustling markets of Sham Shui Po. It also has non-coffee drinks, but we especially recommend the lattes and lemon sodas. Try these with their Pandan Kaya Coconut Chiffon Cake or Basque Cheesecake and thank me later.

The cafe can’t cater to large crowds, so some customers often wait outside because tables are quickly filled as soon as the cafe opens. To avoid queuing, we suggest you make a reservation through the booking link on their Instagram page.

Slash Cafe and Bar

Contact details: +852 6434 4786

Must-tries: Cold Brew Fizz, Latte, Amasake with Coffee

Price: $$

Slash Cafe and Bar is a chic cafe by day and a fun cocktail bar by night. It’s a popular IG-worthy cafe in Sham Shui Po because of its eclectic storefront design (that’s quite different from the usual cute coffee shops around).

In terms of drink and food offerings, we can say that their hot brews and pastries are well worth trying, especially their hand-dripped coffees and lattes. For food, get the Cinnamon Apple Bacon Toast.

Meanwhile, if you visit in the evening, you can try a range of cocktails through their omakase-style menu. Here’s how to order: pick your preferred spirit base and let the bartender create a custom cocktail for you!

Sap Sann

Must-tries: Sap Sann Toast, Coffee Tonic, Cappuccino

If you’re dreaming of visiting a kawaii coffee shop in Japan but can’t hop on an out-of-the-country trip just yet, head over to Sap Sann. With its comfy tatami mats and adorable Japanese-themed interior and decor, it’s like an accessible slice of Japan right in town.

And guess what? You can bring your doggo here with you! The more, the merrier, right?

The menu here is concise, but their signature homemade Sap Sann Toast and Caramel Egg Pudding stand out (visually too!). You can pair these sweet munchies with unique drinks like the Oolong Tea Orange and Genmaicha Latte.

Sō Coffee & Gin is an excellent hangout spot for friends because of what it offers – coffee and booze.

This cozy bistro serves various coffee brews, an extensive selection of local and imported craft beers, along with an array of gin sourced from Japan, France, and Finland.

Apart from that, this cafe also sells large batches of single-origin coffee from Brazil, Guatemala, Indonesia, and other countries, so be sure to check those out as well if you wish to have a stash of good beans at home.

Who says you can’t have coffee at noon? Well, if you’re not an early riser, you’ll appreciate the opening hours of this cute cafe.

You see, Flow opens at 12 PM, so it’s just right to call this a brunch spot, right?

Flow serves its own blends of hand-drip coffee options (mostly espressos), which all pair perfectly with the sweet munchies. And yes, we’re talking about their matcha cake and cake rolls, which have taken many Hongkongers’ Instagram by storm.

Cafe Sausalito

Must-tries: Flat White, Coffee Manic, Very Dirty

Cafe Sausalito is an all-day breakfast and coffee shop that’s been an OG caffeine stopover in Sham Shui Po. With its rustic and beautiful interior plus a cute terrace dining area, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a lazy afternoon by yourself.

It serves a solid selection of classics like single-origin and pour-over coffees, lattes, and cappuccinos. However, lately, the cafe has become more popular because of its new blends.

Have you heard about Cucumberano? Well, if you’re adventurous enough, why not try this unique concoction? Clue: it’s just soda water with a dash of cucumber-flavored coffee!

Anyway, if you want something with an extra kick, we recommend Very Dirty. Don’t worry, it’s not a dirty drink. It’s just a coffee liqueur mixed with chocolate paste, so it’s bittersweet.

Zapjok

Contact details: +852 9010 9515

Must-tries: Cappuccino, Cold Brew, Red Raspberry & Rose Cake Roll

Price: $

Another Japanese-themed cafe you can visit is Zapjok. With its rustic and wooden exterior, you can easily spot this cafe in Cheung Sha Wan Road.

We recommend trying the Japanese-style meal seats and desserts. To be honest, with how these treats are plated, they certainly deserve a spot on every foodie’s Instagram!

Of course, you can still enjoy a selection of coffee and non-coffee drinks here, like cold brews, flat whites, and lattes. You can pair them with savory treats like their grilled pufferfish and grilled pork belly to balance out the greasiness.

Milk Bar

Location: 79 Apliu Street, Apliu Street

Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 12 PM to 7 PM

Must-tries: Croffles, Latte, Dirty, Americano

Price: $

Milk Bar is an aesthetically pleasing coffee shop that’s worth visiting if you’re into Korean-style cafes with minimalist vibes.

You see, this cafe features a bright and airy space, thanks to its huge main window that lets in lots of natural light. It’s a great place to relax and escape the buzz of the city while savoring a hot cup of Americano and sweet croffles – a tasty crossover between croissants and waffles.

As you can notice when you go inside, there aren’t too many seats, but don’t worry, the cafe features outdoor seating too, so it never feels too crowded.

Contact details: +852 2791 7128

Must-tries: Croffles, Ice Drip Coffee, Citron Steamed Iced Coffee

Price:

Colour Brown x CoffeeGoOn is a cool collaboration between a popular cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui, Colour Brown, and CoffeeGoOn, an exhibition space. That’s why you can expect monthly events and exhibits themed around coffee in this cafe. Pretty interesting, right?

People love coming here to snap pics of the stunning pieces of artwork on the walls of the cafe’s ground floor. The spiral staircase is also a hit Instagrammable spot here!

That said, we think its unique coffee blends have also garnered quite a large following. Make sure to try their bestseller, Ice Drip Coffee, or go for something different like Pineapple Passion Fruit Coffee and Coconut Water with Espresso.
