Steeped in history since the 1950s, Islam Food is a local favorite, bagging multiple prestigious food awards. But here’s the kicker: while it might seem like your typical halal Chinese joint at first glance, it’s the hidden treasures on their menu that steal the show.

Don’t overlook their prized dish, the succulent xiao long bao. These delicate steamed dumplings are an absolute must-try at Islam Food, which is what made this place famous in the first place.

Not to mention their fan-favorite cold-cut platter (perfect for groups – you wouldn’t want to finish this alone!). This includes spicy beef shank, tripe, tendon, chicken, and your choice of jellyfish or ox-tongue. Pretty adventurous, right?

Finding the entrance to Kashmir Curry House was a bit of an adventure, as it’s tucked away behind a Chinese Medicine shop. Once inside, we were greeted by the warm and inviting aroma of authentic Indian spices that instantly made us feel at home.

Our team couldn’t stop raving about the butter chicken—it was hands down the best we’ve ever had in Hong Kong. The garlic naan, soft and perfectly seasoned, was the ideal match for the rich and flavorful curry.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive. They even took the time to chat with us when it wasn’t too busy – thanks to this, we got a recommendation to try their awesome mango lassi.

Mecca

Contact Details: +852 5546 6477

Operating hours: Monday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

We decided to try Mecca’s burgers and lamb pizzas, and let me tell you, it was a feast to remember. The portions were massive, and despite the generous servings, the prices were unbelievably reasonable.

The crispy chicken double burger stole the show for me, though I wished it had a bit more kick. But hey, just ask, and they’ll actually spice it up for you!

One thing that stood out to us was the services  – we often order in advance, and without fail, our orders are packed neatly. And sometimes, they even surprise us with extra soft drinks, which is always a nice touch.
