When it comes to strawberry farms in Hong Kong, we can’t help but rave about one of our favorites: Kam Tin Country Club.
And why’s that? Well, it’s more than just about picking strawberries there. You actually get to taste strawberries from all over the world!
And the grounds are huge. We’re talking a whopping 100,000 square feet of strawberries to choose from.
However, do keep in mind that strawberries are seasonal in Hong Kong, with the picking season running from December to the end of March or early April. So, it’s wise to double-check before planning your visit.
Nevertheless, even if you come outside the picking season, there’s still plenty to enjoy at this Hong Kong strawberry farm. From petting lambs to an archery range and a playground that the kids will adore, there’s something for everyone here.

But hey, before you get too carried away, the place isn’t just about strawberries. They grow a bunch of other fruits and veggies too, so don’t expect it to be all about those tempting red berries.
However, the good news is that strawberries seem to be the center of attention here, especially during the peak season. You can pay a flat fee (HK$100 for one person) for unlimited strawberry picking and eating.
And if you want to take some strawberries home, no problem! They’ll weigh them for you and charge accordingly (HK$100 per pound).
The only downside? They only have one type of strawberry, the Japanese variety. But as far as we’re concerned, they’re the sweetest Japanese strawberries around!

Additionally, because there’s plenty of space to move around in their two fields, it won’t feel suffocating even if you visit with a crowd.

When we first set foot on Long Ping Strawberry Farm’s 50,000 sq. ft of open space, we noticed primarily Japanese strawberries.
But there’s more to it than that! They actually cultivate a variety of carefully nurtured breeds, which is why they’re famous for having the most types of Japanese strawberries (they even grow Japanese grapes, by the way).
Entry to the farm is free, and it’s open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, giving you the whole day for your strawberry-picking fix. You pay for what you pick, so the more strawberries you put in your basket, the more you pay.
What’s waiting for you after you have gathered your fresh goodies? You can enjoy them farm-to-table style in the picnic area of the farm. This is actually a must-try here, so don’t miss out on it!
For obvious reasons, we recommend visiting during the strawberry season in Hong Kong, which goes from December to April. But no worries if you can’t make it then – during the off-season, you can still have fun picking fruits, but you’ll be limited to grapes and longans.

While Old Xu Farm mainly focuses on harvesting local organic veggies, you’ll be pleased to know they also grow strawberries. During peak season, the farm offers three varieties: French, Japanese, and Korean at different prices, starting at HK$60 per pound.
Once you’re finished picking strawberries, consider signing up for a crash-course on making strawberry jam, which is a favorite activity among visitors here. Who knows how many jars you can fill once you bring home your harvest?
While strawberry picking is undeniably the main draw, it’s the farm’s own “milk strawberries” that truly stand out. These special berries are cultivated by adding milk powder to the water used for growing Japanese strawberries.
