Pros

  • Provides a sense of exclusivity
  • Place is neat and clean
  • Above-standard food quality
  • The club has many amenities

Cons

  • Public transportation available, but not very frequent
  • Membership required for most visits
  • Additional costs for visitors

Gold Coast Yacht & Country Club is a private country club that is exclusively for members. The club boasts a neat and clean environment, and the staff, including the waitresses, are extremely polite and friendly.

The food quality is above standard, making it a great place to relax or have some exercise. The view outside is good, which only makes the food inside taste better.

The club is accessible by public transportation, but it is better to drive to it as the frequency of public transport passing by is not that high. Besides, another one of the perks of this place is that parking is not a problem.

Membership is required for most visits and activities, but it is worth it for the excellent restaurant. Other than that, a lot of the venue rooms can be hired for a function.

Our favourite thing about the place is that a lot of its facilities are overlooking the marina, and it only takes a minute to walk to the Gold Coast Piazza.

We definitely recommend this place for those who want a private and exclusive experience.

Pros

  • Only a 15-minute walk from HK Ocean Park
  • Peaceful atmosphere
  • Delicious food
  • Very friendly and helpful staff

Cons

  • Gym is a bit small

A classical club with a strong reputation, this is a true gem. The club is also fairly easy to get to: only a 15-minute walk from HK Ocean Park, even if you don’t drive or have no chauffeur.

The club offers good services everywhere you go, from the restaurants to the garden cafe, swimming pool, and even the lawn, where private parties are usually held.

Although the area of the club is not that big, it never felt claustrophobic or overcrowded when we visited. We particularly loved the ambience of the cafe where you can look out to the lawn and the sea.

The staff were also extremely helpful. The restaurants also have amazing food and drinks, fast WiFi, and a big pool.

The gym does seem a bit small, however. On the bright side, the tennis courts are really nice and well-kept.

The lounge is a must-visit, with an amazing selection of whiskeys among other great drink options, and the bartenders definitely know how to make a good tasting cocktail.

During our visit, we were served Chinese cuisine by very warm and extremely helpful staff and each dish tasted exquisite. The club is a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and comfort, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the company of friends and family.

Pros

  • Relaxed and peaceful atmosphere
  • First-class facilities
  • Well-equipped golf shop

Cons

  • Very particular dress codes
  • Expensive

Once you visit the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club, you’ll find that the stunning view is never enough for your eyes and your soul. This is a great place to start your day.

The club offers a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, with the sound of golf balls being hit in the driving range adding to the unique ambiance.

The club has a strict dress code for members and visitors too, which may be a pain for some, by the way.

Anyway, the club offers first-class facilities, including a very well-equipped pro golfing shop and some of the best greens in Hong Kong.

Overall, it’s an authentic club in a picturesque setting, and it’s another hidden gem in the hectic city. The food is of high quality, and if you get the chance to play there, even just the basics can help you achieve good scores.

For those struggling with golf, you’ll find it especially enjoyable to play here once you know how far landing areas are relative to your carry.

For us, it’s a good place to play golf with spectacular sea views and enjoy good facilities and quality food. For avid golfers, this club should definitely be on your list of places to relax as well as play.

Pros

  • Reasonable food pricing
  • Excellent roast geese/duck and char-siu
  • Friendly and attentive staff

Cons

  • Dining restricted to members
  • Lift can only be accessed by request at the front desk

The food at Fairview Park Country Club is always good, and as a member, you have the privilege of dining here.

The default is that you probably know the serving staff very well as they are friendly and make you feel like going back all the time.

The restaurant is famous for its roast geese/duck and BBQ char-siu, as well as delicious dim sum that offer value for money. The staff are all very friendly, making it a great place for dim sum, however, it’s for members only.

The bill for the quality of food is totally reasonable, with our favourite dishes being stir-fried beef, rice in hot pot, and flat noodles with roast pork.

Of course, their other amenities also stand out fairly well. The club has a unique ambiance, with a comfortable lounge and various gym facilities.

The club is one of the largest private clubs within the city, built for the sole purpose of recreational and social pleasures in Hong Kong.

Pros

  • Challenging Par-3 course
  • Good restaurant

Cons

  • Quite far from the city
  • No cash payment
  • Strictly members-only

The Hong Kong Golf Club is a great place for an afternoon hideaway, with great facilities, tasty affordable food (both Chinese and Western), and a high standard of service.

This is a members-only golf club, in any case. That exclusivity will appeal to a lot of people, of course, but may also put off others.

However, we can vouch for the quality of their restaurant, which is definitely worth the visit thanks to its top-notch food and service.

It’s a bit far from the city, by the way, but not that difficult to navigate. Other than that, the only thing that could be viewed as negative is that this is a private club that does not even take cash: members just sign for the bill, which can be a hassle for others.

Since this is a golf club, there is a 9-hole golf fairway. The grounds are always well kept, apparently, and we have no reason to say otherwise after seeing the fairway for ourselves.

Overall, this club offers a challenging course, great facilities, good food, a high standard of service, and a great place to spend an afternoon.
