Pros

  • One of the longest opening hours
  • Offers valet parking
  • Accessible location

Cons

  • Restrooms are difficult to find
  • Highly expensive shops

The LANDMARK, as you may expect from its name, has been an integral part of Central Hong Kong for over four decades. Since then, it has expanded to having multiple buildings that house numerous big-name luxury brands.

One of the things we like about Landmark is its accessibility. Not only does it have some of the longest operating hours out of all shopping malls in Hong Kong, but it is also close to the subway and other forms of public transportation.

Those with private transportation would also find the shopping centre convenient since Landmark offers valet parking.

Another thing we like about Landmark is its concierge services. The concierge not only points you to where you should go but can also lend you umbrellas and portable chargers that are highly useful in emergencies.

However, since Landmark hosts luxury brands, you can expect to spend a pretty penny in cafes, stores, and restaurants. Since the place is highly accessible too, you can expect long queues, especially during the weekends.

Most importantly, the sheer size of the mall and the lack of signage can make looking for bathrooms more challenging than it’s supposed to be.

Other than these, the Landmark is a lovely place to visit, even if you’re just going window shopping with friends.

Pros

  • Offers free 3-hour parking
  • Is home to over 160 stores
  • Located right above the Admiralty MTR Station

Cons

  • Expensive shops
  • May not be child-friendly

Pacific Place is a luxurious complex of office places, hotels, and a large shopping centre. The centre is perhaps one of the biggest shopping malls in Hong Kong, as it has over 160 stores and restaurants spread over four levels.

These shops and restaurants are mid-range to high-end brands, so you can expect to spend a lot of money whenever you visit.

Spending or not, you will still be welcomed by the breathtaking architecture that makes Pacific Place feel spacious and relaxing, perfect even for a stroll.

One of the things we like about Pacific Place is its accessibility. The complex is located right above the Admiralty MTR Station, hosts a taxi service, and offers parking spaces for 400 vehicles.

In addition, the shopping mall also offers valet parking and a free three-hour parking scheme as long as you spend $500 cumulatively on the same day.

However, the mall may not be too child-friendly as travelling to the shopping centre would require you to go up and down multiple fast-moving escalators, which can easily make your kids feel tired and stressed.

Another thing we like about Pacific Place is its services. The mall offers free unlimited Wi-Fi and lends chargers, wheelchairs, and strollers to those that ask.

Pros

  • Spacious mall with lovely decor
  • Hosts around 200 stores and restaurants
  • Breathtaking rooftop view
  • Highly accessible location

Cons

  • Closes earlier than most shopping malls in Hong Kong
  • May be hard to navigate

The International Finance Centre Mall is a shopping mall in Hong Kong located in the same complex as a high-end hotel. Since its construction two decades ago, the IFC Mall is now one of the most popular and visited centres in Hong Kong.

One of the strengths of IFC is its accessibility. Not only is it close to the MTR station and other public transit stations, but the mall is also near a ferry terminal.

We also like that the shopping centre has around 200 stores, most of which are luxury brands, restaurants, and entertainment shops. This variety of activities, combined with the mall’s ambience and rooftop views, can make you lose track of time just by sightseeing.

Speaking of sightseeing, we enjoyed the views offered by the mall, especially from its open terraces that are usually part of restaurants. As such, customers that enjoy having open-air dining experiences while having an overview of the harbour may have a fun time.

However, due to the IFC Mall’s size, it may be difficult to navigate, particularly for tourists and expatriates.

The IFC Mall also offers unique services that some may find useful, such as free fax, copy, and scan services, phone charging, and complementary candies and balloons for children.

Overall, we believe that the IFC Mall is a great place to visit if you’re looking for breathtaking views and dining experiences; however, it is essential to remember that the mall closes at 7 PM, earlier than most shopping centres.

Pros

  • Highly accessible
  • Large number of activities available

Cons

  • Shops are primarily luxury brands

Times Square is a luxury shopping centre in Hong Kong reminiscent of its namesake in New York. Spacious, busy, and accessible, Times Square has made itself a central part of the Causeway Bay community since its establishment in 1994.

One of the centre’s biggest strengths is its accessibility. Not only is Times Square above the Causeway Bay MTR Station, but it is also accessible by private vehicles or through the tram, mini-bus, and bus systems.

Times Square also offers 700 parking spaces with free 3-hour parking for a minimum daily spend, which is good for private travellers.

Another strength of Times Square is the variety of activities it offers. In its building, customers can find unique entertainment experiences, such as VR places, co-baking spaces, yoga and fitness spots, and more.

We also like how floors 10 to 13 are filled with restaurants and cafes, perfect for those looking for a break after a long day at work.

Although the stores in the mall range from mid- to high-end brands, the restaurants surprisingly offer food and drinks at affordable prices.

We talked to some customers around Times Square, and they said that they liked the range of activities available in the centre. They also commented on how busy the place is and how old but well-maintained the bathrooms are.

Pros

  • Lengthy operating hours
  • Directly connected to Taikoo MTR station
  • Houses an indoor ice rink

Cons

  • Gets crowded every weekend

Cityplaza is a shopping mall in Hong Kong that is directly connected to two exits of the Tai Koo MTR Station. The six-level mall houses around 170 shops and dining areas, ensuring you have everything you need under one roof.

Aside from its direct connection to the MTR station, Cityplaza also gets additional points for accessibility because of its lengthy operating hours.

However, due to how available the mall is, you can expect it to get crowded during weekends. According to some of the customers we interviewed, Cityplaza often has parking queues during the weekends and public holidays, making it slightly inconvenient for many.

Another thing we like about the shopping centre is the variety of activities it offers. Unlike other malls, it does not house solely luxury brands, allowing more customers to find what they need that would match their budgets.

Aside from dining, shopping, leisure, and a comfortable cinema, Citiplaza also has one of the few indoor ice skating rinks in Hong Kong.

Overall, the shopping mall is great for casual strolls and everyday shopping, especially after work. However, we believe it is important to note that the low ceilings can make Cityplaza a bit more stuffy compared to other shopping centres.
