Whether you’re a seasoned ice skater or a complete beginner, here’s some good news: there are plenty of places in Hong Kong to enjoy the ice.
From stunning views of the harbor to advanced indoor facilities, each skating rink has something special. Here, though, we’ve gone ahead and picked the best skating spots in Hong Kong!
1. Mega Ice

Mega Ice offers a huge place for people to skate – 57m x 26m to be exact! While this is spectacular because you get to skate more freely, the highlight of going to Mega Ice is something entirely different.
You see, the place offers a beautiful view of the harbor thanks to the large 30 meters high glass windows.
If you’re someone who considers the aesthetic of the place when ice skating, then Mega Ice is certainly worth checking out.

2. Cityplaza Ice Palace

Cityplaza Ice Palace recently renovated their rink to give their visitors a better skating experience.
According to them, they managed to use a refrigerant that can generate fast ice, so all kinds of ice skaters can easily use it. Moreover, the audio and lighting equipment they currently have are much better than before.
What we like most about their upgrades is that they have provided a space for refreshments on the rink. Before, skaters would have to remove their skates in order to quench their thirst, but not anymore!
Oh, also worth noting: the self-service skate rental and the digitized lockers!

3. The Rink

Located inside Elements, The Rink requires an Octopus Card to enter. There are no ticket booths in the area, so there’s no need to line up.
What people enjoy most about The Rink is that the duration of sessions isn’t fixed, so you can stretch your sessions for as long as you like! Having a view of the Victoria Harbour while skating here is a huge plus too.

4. DB Ice Rink

DB Ice Rink is one of the best ice rinks in Hong Kong. In fact, it’s often used for competitions, performances, and the like.
That said, you don’t have to be an expert skater to be able to enjoy this rink. It’s quite easy for skaters of all levels to enjoy their time here.
However, we would highly recommend this for people who want to take ice skating seriously. Aside from having world-class amenities, they also have professional coaches that can help you reach your goals.
Pro tips:
They also have a skating school. You can get a discount at this rink if you’re a student.
If you’re able, we suggest going here on a weekday because it can get pretty crowded during the weekends.
5. Lohas Rink

Lohas Rink is considered the biggest environmentally friendly ice skating rink in Hong Kong. A lot of competitions and performances also take place here because of their amazing amenities.
A few examples of their advanced amenities are electronic lockers, monthly rental locker room with showers, skate sharpening services, and such.
Needless to say, everything an ice skater needs is already here. Aside from what we mentioned, we also enjoyed the striking futuristic interior of Lohas Rink.
Pro tip:
We find it best to purchase a ticket online to be assured a spot. Moreover, there are times when the rink is closed because of special events, so it’s better to check the schedule on their website before planning your visit.
6. Sky Rink

Considered the oldest rink in town, Sky Rink has garnered a lot of loyal patrons. That said, it’s honestly not the most impressive rink in Hong Kong.
However, people love going to the Sky Rink because of how accessible it is, making it the local families’ go-to-skating rink.
Plus, you can easily grab a bite at the Dragon Centre or Sham Shui Po with numerous restaurants to choose from.
Pro tip:
One of the coolest things about Sky Rink is the now unused rollercoaster above it. Make sure to take photos!
7. Festival Walk Glacier

Festival Walk Glacier is a beautiful ice skating rink that brings in a lot of natural lighting.
It’s another convenient choice because there are a lot of shops around it. If your plan for the day is to go for a short skating session before eating and shopping, this one’s a wise option for you.
Moreover, it’s near an MTR station (Kowloon Tong), so it’s quite accessible.
Pro tip:
Make sure to not lose your ticket because you’ll be charged extra if you do.
8. Aberdeen Marina Club Rink

However, you don’t need to be an Aberdeen Marina Club member if you want to make use of their rink. All you need to do is fill up the form on their website.
