When the rainy season hits Hong Kong (or anywhere for that matter), it’s easy to succumb to the idea that you’re stuck indoors with nothing to do.
However, that’s not true at all! There are plenty of fun activities to try while staying dry.

1. Take ceramic workshops at the CC Art Studio

They say it’s never too late to learn something new – and we agree! That’s why we recommend doing something with your hands by taking up ceramic workshops at the CC Art Studio. We find this especially relaxing during the rainy season.
Not only will you get to learn something new, you’ll also have the chance to meet new people with the same interests! They also have other workshops worth checking out like art workshops, modeling clay workshops, couples clay workshops, and the like.
Pro tip:
The CC Art Studio is in an accessible spot – you don’t even need to take your car. Once you alight from the Prince Edward MTR station, you just need to walk for a minute before you find yourself inside the studio.

We don’t know about you, but the rainy season for us calls for a relaxing activity… and one of the best ways to deal with last week’s stress is by getting a massage.
We find that one of the best massage places in Hong Kong is The Mandarin Spa. It’s of world-class quality and you’re sure to get your money’s worth.
A fair number of us are actually already regulars. Anyway, there are numerous massages you can get from The Mandarin Spa. However, if you were to ask which the best one is, it would be hard to answer.
It’s because each one has different techniques, so at the end of the day, the best one might be entirely up to what you’re looking for.
Pro tip:
They also have other facilities you can enjoy like the swimming pool, barber and salon, and fitness center.

LokCha has numerous tea options available, so you’re bound to find something that best suits your taste buds.
Aside from drinks, you can also order food here like crunchy dim sum plates, desserts, and such. We recommend the dim sum!

Here’s a fun activity to do with all your buds – escape rooms! This is especially recommended if you’re a thrill-seeker with a love for puzzles.
Some rooms are best for 2 to 6 people, while others can fit up to 8 people. Do note that Lost at Causeway Bay, Mong Kok, The Pulse, D2 Place Two, and DB Plaza all offer different rooms.
Make sure to check out each one their website to find which is the most exciting for you.
Anyway, if you find it hard to gather the gang during the rainy season, you can still enjoy the excitement of escape rooms right at home. Lost has several virtual escape games on their website that are also quite fun!
Pro tip:
Our favorite room as of the moment is the Qin Immortal Life. The room can accommodate from 2 to 6 people and can be finished in 45 minutes. In this room, you get to experience being on an expedition to get inside the Qin Ling tomb. Navigate your way out or be stuck there forever (not really, of course).

During the rainy season, keep your belly warm with delicious Indian cuisine. We find that there’s no better way to do this than grabbing a free-flowing brunch at Veda.
They offer a lot of classic Indian street food like samosa chaat and pani puri. And yes, everything’s vegetarian friendly! Some of their food options are even gluten-free.
Pro tip:
If you also want free-flowing champagne, you just have to add HK $368 (per person).
6. Go stargazing at the Hong Kong Space Museum

Who says you can’t enjoy looking at the stars while staying indoors? Well, thanks to the Hong Kong Science Museum, you can experience the wonders of space from a comfortable chair.
Their Space Theatre is where the real magic is. It’s equipped with a 23-meter-hemispherical screen so you will really feel like you’re traveling to the milky way.
By the way, every year, they change the shows that they screen at the theater. As of writing, they have Mars 1001, Voyager (a space mission show), and Nature’s Hidden Kingdom (shows the world of fungi).

Other than the Space Theatre, there are a lot of fun activities to experience at the Hong Kong Science Museum. They also offer astronomy courses, workshops, young astronaut training camps, and many more.
7. Bring out your inner child at Ryze Ultimate Trampoline Park

For those who feel called doing activities that require a lot of movement during the rainy season, there’s the Ryze Ultimate Trampoline Park.
There are a lot of activities to do here like extreme air sports (7,000 square feet of trampoline field), ninja obstacle course, trapeze, and more. And it’s covered, so the rain won’t be a problem!
Quite a few people even celebrate their birthday parties. We can say that we’re already looking at this venue for our next office party!
For groups up to 10 people, you can book for around HK $2,700 to HK $3,400. The price depends on whether you’re booking for the weekday or weekend.
Pro tip:
If you want to avoid crowds, we recommend going here around Monday to Wednesday.
8. Watch gigs at The Wanch

During the rainy season, you can also stay dry and experience live music at The Wanch. Different types of bands play here like rock, acoustic, RnB, pop, and more – so be ready for anything!
Aside from watching musicians do their magic, you can also enjoy numerous food items off The Wanch’s menu.
They have snacks like fries, zinger chicken wings, and quesadillas. They also have more filling dishes such as garlic chili prawn pasta, stonebaked gourmet pizza, cumberland sausage & mash, and a lot more!
Of course they also serve alcoholic drinks so sit back, relax, and lose yourself in the music.
Pro tip:
We find it best to avoid going here on Fridays to Sundays if we want a more peaceful atmosphere. It’s usually when The Wanch attracts a lot of their patrons!
9. Grab a cup of coffee at Fineprint

The rainy season calls for a steaming cup of coffee. That’s why this list wouldn’t be complete without us including one of the best cafes in Hong Kong – Fineprint.
The baristas here really know what they’re doing and they’re knowledgeable on all things coffee-related.
Not only is their coffee good, but their interior is also quite aesthetically pleasing. We say this because we find that coffee drinkers usually appreciate good ambiance together with their coffee.
Pro tip:
Unlike other cafes, Fineprint also offers other drinks like wine and cocktails. They’re pretty good!
