Booking appointments at Dr. Derek M.K. Lee’s clinic was a breeze, whether through their hotline, WhatsApp, or website form. On top of that, their service met our expectations, offering core procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and colon cancer screening. 

What’s more impressive is their comprehensive range of GI-related services. This includes ERCP, small bowel enteroscopy, and abdominal ultrasound examinations.

Additionally, feedback on Dr. Lee himself was exceptional, with patients praising his professionalism and meticulous explanations. This was aligned with our own experience while seeing him for a consultation.

However, we couldn’t help but notice the clinic’s limited staff, which at times led to a slower pace of processes. While Dr. Lee’s expertise is undeniable, having a larger support team could further enhance the clinic’s efficiency and overall patient experience.

During our visits, we experienced exceptional service from staff too, who consistently go above and beyond all throughout. They even offer seamless English-speaking services and swift booking processes.

In fact, after speaking with some of the patients during our visit, we got a clearer understanding of their thorough preparation for colonoscopy procedures – not that there should be any lower standards for such treatments, though.

They’ve also garnered prestigious accolades, such as accreditations from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and certification by the International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH).

However, while their transparency regarding fees and insurance is commendable, we’ve noted inconsistencies in insurance coverage. We found this in some negative reviews, which may impact overall satisfaction. 

We were intrigued by the wide range of services at Dr. Ernest Li’s clinic, which might raise questions about their focus on colonoscopy. But digging deeper, we found they excel in this field, offering gastro services from liver scans to colon checks.

Talking to others, we heard nothing but praise for the clinic. Patients rave about Dr. Li too as a top-notch doctor and commend his nurses for their outstanding care. From what we’ve learned, they make sure to build trust with patients, which is a big plus.

What really stood out, though, was how thorough and clear their consultations were. Patients left feeling informed and confident, which is always a plus in our book.

Now, when it comes to booking, their online system is handy. Though they don’t do walk-ins, so it’s best to plan ahead before you visit.

Finally, Dr. Li’s clinic can be a bit pricey. However, they make it easy for patients financially by accepting various payment methods, including credit cards and insurance.

At the HKU Endoscopy Centre, we found a comprehensive array of endoscopic examinations and treatments available. Not to mention that their well-equipped rooms ensure efficient procedures.

Every aspect of patient care is meticulously organized too, starting with pre-procedural consultations. Additionally, there’s a separate preparation consultation before the actual procedure.

This is to ensure patients are well-informed about the necessary measures to follow. This attention to detail, in particular, definitely earned our approval.

One minor downside, which we can confirm based on personal accounts, is the slow turnaround of results. Fortunately, this is offset by the comprehensive explanation of the results by the doctor.

For instance, if a colonic polyp is detected and removed during colonoscopy, the centre provides advice on the optimal surveillance interval. If other diseases, like cancer or inflammation of the colon, are detected, patients are referred to specialists for further treatment. 

While these practices are expected in any medical procedure, interviews we conducted confirm that the centre consistently adheres to these standards.

The best thing about Dr. Paul Ng is the fact that he provides comprehensive and personalized patient care. For instance, patients undergo thorough evaluations first before he even suggests a colonoscopy for diagnosis.

Moreover, when a colonoscopy was actually indicated, the procedure itself was seamlessly done with every precaution and care measure meticulously implemented.

Now, while same-day appointments are an option, we suggest booking in advance to secure a slot, as availability may vary. 

Moreover, follow-up appointments with Dr. Ng also exceeded our standards, backed by patients who underwent treatment under his care. 

Finally, Dr. Ng’s pricing structure pleasantly surprised us, as it was notably more reasonable compared to other doctors we consulted for similar issues. Plus, it’s also upfront and readily available to check out on their website.
