Pros
- Delicious cakes, especially their moon cakes
- Pretty cake designs
- Friendly staff
Cons
- Expensive cakes
- Hard to navigate website
Cake delivery has been gaining popularity steadily over the years, and we’re starting our list off with The Mandarin Cake Shop, which has been catering Hong Kong’s sweet tooth for over 45 years.
It’s an attractive spot especially for tourists, although a lot of locals also commend their cake delivery along with their very friendly and accommodating staff.
The first thing you’ll see when you stop by their shop is the beautifully detailed works of sugary art on display in front of the store.
And during the Mid-Autumn Festival, their moon cakes are a must, and a lot of the locals give these as gifts across Hong Kong, but these run out fast, so it’s better to have some delivered ahead of time.
But regardless if it’s a special occasion or not, getting a cake from The Mandarin Shop always feels like a special experience.
Their fruit cheesecakes are definitely a must-try, and their coffee has also had its fair share of good reviews from foodies and professional food connoisseurs alike.
Ordering from their website can be a bit difficult, since it’s hard to navigate the whole thing. But there’s nothing a phone call can’t fix. Their line is always open and a friendly staff is more than ready to assist.

Pros
- More locations for easier cake pickups
- Delivery available via multiple platforms
- Delicious cakes, pastries, other baked goods
Cons
- Rude staff
Next on our list is Sift, one of Hong Kong’s modern patisseries that brings refined gourmet cupcakes, French pastries, macarons, and cookies.
Their signature offerings such as the Sift chocolate cake, the red velvet, and the salty caramel cupcakes are definitely a must-try.
Sift currently has 6 shops in Hong Kong, and they have delivery services via Foodpanda and Deliveroo as well. They also offer the usual modes of payment, so it’s pretty convenient to get a cake from them.
One apparent thing about Sift is that they specialise more in cupcakes, but we still put them on this list because of their delicious cakes.
Their cakes are soft, moist, spongy, and sweet, and the cream cheese frosting was really good too. It’s a great pick if you want something creamy and light.
Another cake we like from them is their summer berries cakes, which cost about HK$480 and tasted really light and refreshing. It pairs well with a good cup of coffee.
And although their cupcakes and cakes are sweet and delicious, we can’t say the same about their staff.
There have been instances where the attending staff was quite rude, even on the phone. And while it’s a minor complaint, quite a few of their previous clients have had similar experiences as well.

Pros
- Vegan, gluten-free options
- Great-tasting cakes
- Delivery available via multiple platforms
Cons
- Minor complaints of rude staff
One of the few cake shops that offers gluten-free and vegan options for baked goods in Hong Kong is The Cakery.
Now it’s possible to indulge sweet tooth cravings without feeling guilty with their range of gluten-free and low-sugar cupcakes, and their organic and vegan baked goods as well.
Although they’re relatively new to the food scene in Hong Kong, with their first pop-up shop opening at The Landmark in April 2016, they’ve been steadily growing their business and developing their cake recipes.
At present, The Cakery has three locations: Landmark, Lee Garden Two, and City’Super ifc Mall at Central.
Other than that, they also have delivery options via Foodpanda and Deliveroo with various modes of payment for convenience.
Getting a cake delivered through their website is also quite easy, and there’s a reward system in place, too, if you’re an avid cake eater.
From their bespoke cakes to small treats and their hampers, we find that their cakes always make a good gift, since it’s vegan and gluten-free, and you wouldn’t have to worry about allergens for your giftee.
Although there have been a few complaints about their staff, we think they deserve the benefit of the doubt, and their cakes are definitely worth it.

Pros
- Unique cake flavours
- Beautiful cake designs
- Delivery available via multiple platforms
Cons
- Expensive cakes
- Slow service and delivery
Next on our list is Jouer, owned by Anne Cheung, a former art consultant at top galleries in New York City and London.
Cheung completed her patisserie diploma at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, in 2012. In the year that followed, she opened her first Atelier in Hong Kong.
True to their founder’s love for art and passion for baking, Jouer has since then become one of Hong Kong’s staple dessert shops.
At present, they’ve grown steadily and have opened two locations: Jouer Atelier at Sau Wah Fong, Wan Chai, and Jouer Boutique at Lee Garden Two, Causeway Bay.
In addition, orders can be placed via Foodpanda and Deliveroo or their website. They accept a number of payment methods, including Apple Pay, which is extremely convenient.
Going back to their cakes, their mouth-watering bestsellers include flavours like S’mores, banoffee, red velvet, strawberry lemonade, and more.
Thinking about it just makes us crave for a slice immediately. Their inventive macaron flavours and exquisitely crafted cakes will always be dessert favourites of ours.
Unfortunately, there have been a few complaints about their slow service, and even delivery takes a while.
There’s definitely room for improvement, and we’d also like to point out that their cakes are not that cheap. So unless you’re willing to splurge for some Yuan Yang cake, better keep your options open.

Pros
- Friendly and warm staff
- Beautiful and delicious cakes
- Fairly priced cakes
Cons
- Not available on Foodpanda and Deliveroo
Finally, we have Vive Cake Boutique, serving Hong Kong with a series of stunningly beautiful works of edible art that’ll almost make you feel bad for eating it.
There isn’t much information as to their history or how they came to be, but we don’t really mind. We just know a lot of their clients have nothing but positive feedback about them.
Their cakes are the type you would see at parties and make you ask who made them, or where they are from. That’s our take on Vive’s cakes.
Even shopping in their online store feels like a dream, and seeing all these pretty cakes can only make you so excited.
Their cake boutique is located in the heart of the Central District. You won’t miss it; it’s as dazzling and eye-catching as their cakes.
And while cakes are available for purchase at their store daily, they do suggest pre-ordering from their online shop or call to make a cake reservation.
Other than that, they also have door-to-door delivery services that’s available for all cake orders. However, you can only place delivery orders through their website or call them directly.
Apart from their amazing cakes, their staff are really friendly and warm too. So whether it’s getting a cake at their store or calling them for a delivery, it’s always a pleasant experience at Vive.

Pros
- Customers can expect to find new flavors and cake designs on a regular basis
- Uses only fresh ingredients
- Constantly explores new techniques and ingredients to incorporate
Cons
- Limited capacity
I Love Babycakes is a baking company that specializes in cakes. Founded by a self-taught baker, the company has grown into a brand that operates in India and Hong Kong.
One of the biggest pros of working with I Love Babycakes is their commitment to quality. We love that the company only uses fresh, high-quality ingredients in their cakes, which helps to ensure that the final product is as delicious as possible.
Aside from this, we think that it is nice that they also offer a wide range of unique, delicious flavors that are sure to please even the most discerning cake lovers.
Another advantage of working with I Love Babycakes is their willingness to experiment with new baking techniques and flavors. The company’s founder is constantly seeking out new techniques and ingredients to incorporate into their cakes, which helps to keep their offerings fresh and exciting.
Another potential downside of working with I Love Babycakes is their reliance on a single baker.
While the company does offer a range of unique and delicious flavors, the fact that they only have one baker means that they may have limited capacity when it comes to fulfilling larger orders or taking on multiple projects at once

Cons

What we like about their cakes is that they’re tasty and low-sugar. Our palates are satisfied without being too risky to our heath and we love that.
Because of the owner’s graphic design background, we like that their cakes are bursting with pretty patterns and talented colour-matching skills. All their cakes are pleasing not just for our taste, but for our sight as well.
