One of the things we like about Love Hair is how environment-friendly they are as a business. They use filtered, locally-sourced water, eco-flooring, and reclaimed wood shelves that add to their overall aesthetic.

However, the hair salon’s biggest strength lies in its stylists. Love Hair’s stylists are all experienced and have worked either in the field or with the salon for over 5 years.

Having multiple seasoned stylists allows Love Hair to perform a variety of services. What we like best are their colour correction and balayage services, done wonderfully by their master stylist.

Although the process took quite some time, we saw how natural yet vibrant the colours on our tester’s hair were after their appointment with the salon. 

Despite finding the salon’s services slightly expensive, we believe that the quality of their work makes every penny worth it.

We talked to some of Love Hair’s previous clients to know what they liked best, and most of them said that aside from the salon’s service, they appreciated how warm, amicable, and professional the staff and stylists were.

Being on the top floor, the salon offers a beautiful view of the harbour and enjoys large amounts of natural light, making it seem like some sort of sanctuary in the middle of a busy city.

One of the Mandarin Salon’s biggest strengths is its veteran hairdressers, who are all internationally trained. Most of these hairdressers have been working in their fields for decades.

The hairdressers’ skills and expertise show in their service, which we found beyond satisfactory. Aside from giving us a lovely haircut, the stylists also made us feel welcome with their hospitality and professionalism.

Other customers also praise the hairdressers for being able to work with toddlers and kids.

Another strength of Mandarin is its list of services, which include the usual haircuts, colouring, and balayage. In addition, the salon also offers manicure and pedicure services.

We especially enjoyed the Shanghainese pedicure and their iPedicure services, which were efficiently and painlessly done by their specialists.

Although the salon’s haircutting services are reasonably priced based on the shop’s prestige, we found their hair colouring and other related services are more expensive than average.

Nevertheless, Mandarin Salon’s masterful stylists and range of services combined with their daily operation make them a great place to consider if you want to look good and be pampered at the same time.

Kim Robinson is a hair stylist renowned in Hong Kong and Asia.  Before arriving in Hong Kong, Kim initially trained in Australia and Hong Kong before finally establishing his flagship store in Central, called kimrobinson.

Since then, Kim Robinson has established another branch in Causeway Bay, but he stays in the one in Central. Both locations are luxurious and indulgent, with art pieces hanging on the walls.

One of the salon’s biggest strengths is its stylists.

Kim Robinson has 40 years of experience, while his personally scouted and trained stylists have all worked with celebrities and have over five years of experience each.

What we like best about Kim Robinson’s salons is their hair cutting style, which they call dry cutting. Dry cutting is where the stylist cuts your hair dry so they can see your hair’s natural flow and texture and style accordingly.

The hairdressers’ use of dry cutting, combined with special hair colouring techniques, creates a unique, personal look. 

We also like how Kim Robinson and his stylists offer makeup and bridal styling services that make them a one-stop shop for all women’s styling needs.

However, it is essential to note that Kim Robinson’s high-quality bespoke services have a steep cost. Some of their haircuts and styling services could easily cost you $13,000.

As such, we believe that Kim Robinson is a great match for those looking to attend extravagant events and those who simply wish to invest in their looks.

Toni&Guy is a hair salon in Hong Kong that offers extensive services. Aside from the usual hair cutting, styling, and colouring, the salon also provides numerous different hair treatments and natural hair extensions.

We like how their services are more affordable than other hair salons in Hong Kong. However, this affordability did not seem to reduce service quality. 

On our visit, we were greeted by a friendly and professional staff. What we like best about the stylists is that they attentively listened to us when we told them what we wanted.

They tried to know our likes and personal styles and gave helpful suggestions throughout the process. In the end, we enjoyed unique haircuts that stayed true to our preferences.

Aside from being friendly and professional, the stylists are also skilful with decades of experience under their belts. In addition to seeing them work on haircuts and styling, we saw them masterfully colour their other clients’ hairs which resulted in vibrant, intentional hues with beautiful shading.

We also like Toni&Guy have VIP rooms if you wish to have a private space for you to relax and unwind as you get your hair done.

Overall, we believe that Toni&Guy is a great place to consider for general hair styling services, regardless of the occasion. However, it is essential to note that they do not accept walk-ins and that appointments are necessary.

Hair Culture is a hair salon in Hong Kong with locations in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central. The salon has also gone international, with branches in Taipei and Toronto.

What we like best about Hair Culture is its extensive services, which include haircuts, treatments, and perming. These services are more affordable compared to other salons.

However, the salon’s hair cutting and styling services have price tiers, with their most experienced hairdressers costing more.

This isn’t to say that their lowest-tier stylists are not experienced or should be avoided. Hair Culture’s roster of stylists has spent around a decade in the field, with most of them having experience working for huge events and celebrities.

We visited Hair Culture to try out their services, and they did not disappoint. The stylists were professional, attentive, and detail-oriented.

We asked other customers about their experience, and they noted how they liked how easy it was to get an appointment and how affordable the services were.

Another customer said they appreciated the VIP room treatment because it gave them time to relax.
