The University of Hong Kong is one of the oldest universities in the region. With over 130 years of experience, HKU seems to have refined the quality of its education and developed advantages throughout the decades.

You can see these advantages in the university’s MBA programs. The  HKU offers three modalities: a full-time MBA program, a part-time MBA program, and a part-time GBA program.

These programs are internationally acclaimed, with companies like Forbes ranking them amongst the top in Hong Kong and Asia.

As such, the students in these programs come from different nations and regions.

Another thing we like about HKU’s MBA programs is the flexibility they offer. 

If you have more time on your hands, you can choose the full-time program, which is a one-year intensive study with three different strands. For a part of the school year, you could travel to New York, London, or Shanghai, depending on the strand you choose.

If you can only devote some to your studies, you could pick the part-time program where you could opt to study either twice a week on weekdays or only on Saturdays.

Overall, the University of Hong Kong’s MBA programs are perfect for those looking for the right mix of flexibility and quality. 

However, it is essential to note that the programs could cost over $588,000, payable in three instalments. 

Although the school offers scholarships and discounts, HKU’s programs are some of the most expensive MBAs in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a university established in 1991. Although they offer mostly research and science-oriented education, HKUST also has a business school and provides MBA in Hong Kong. 

One of the things we like about HKUST’s MBA programs is their short periods. Students can pick between the full-time and part-time programs and get their masters within two years.

The full-time MBA program comes in a 12-month accelerated course or a 16-month study, with the latter having an option to do internships abroad as a foreign exchange student. 

The part-time MBA program is not short but also flexible. HKUST’s part-time MBA can be accomplished in a maximum of five years with a relatively relaxed schedule. 

Another thing we like about HKUST’s program is its DiMBA scheme, where students can opt for a combination of online and offline modalities to get their degrees. 

This program is not only available for Hong Kong locals but also for international students who wish to participate. 

Unsurprisingly, these quality courses come at quite a high price. HKUST’s tuition fee for its MBA program costs around $600,000, excluding other expenses.

Regardless, we believe that HKUST’s programs are the perfect match for those looking to get their MBA degrees as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality. 

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a public research university established in 1963. Aside from its years of experience, CUHK is praised by many people and regarded as one of the most innovative schools by big names such as Reuters. 

One of the things we like about CUHK’s MBA programs is their variety. In addition to the part-time and full-time programs, the university also offers a JD/MBA program, where students can get units of business law mixed into their curriculum.

CUHK also offers a program for final-year MBA students to earn another degree more affordably in less time. 

Called the MBA plus, the program will give graduating MBA students the choice to take another master’s degree in Accountancy, Business Analytics, and other MScs.

The university offers a dual MBA program, where you study both in Hong Kong and at another university abroad.

We also like the number of opportunities that the CUHK provides its students. Both full-time and part-time students can get into foreign exchange programs, where they can study in partner universities in the US, Europe, and other countries in Asia. 

It is crucial to know that the tuition fee for the program costs $580,000, which may be too expensive for some. However, the university offers numerous ways for students to get scholarships and discounts, which can help tremendously.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or PolyU, is a public research university funded by the government. 

PolyU offers different post-graduate programs, although their MBA programs are relatively limited. 

PolyU has part-time and full-time programs for MBA in Hong Kong. One of the things we like about these programs is their affordability.

Each course costs $437,190, relatively cheaper when compared to other universities. There are also numerous scholarships and financial aid programs, which is a plus.

Another thing we like about these MBA courses is their electives and specialisms. Students have full reign over the subjects they want to take as electives and can apply for a specialisation in fashion or aviation if they wish to extend their studies.

The full-time and part-time programs are flexible, too, which is a plus, especially for working students. 

However, PolyU may not be the best match for those looking for more internship opportunities. Compared to other universities, PolyU only has field studies and trips abroad for those that choose the “Field Study for Business Management” elective.

With all of these in mind, we believe that PolyU’s programs are best for those looking for quality and affordable MBAs in Hong Kong.

The City University of Hong Kong, or CityU, is a university founded in 1984. It offers a variety of MBA programs, which we believe is one of its strengths.

CityU offers both full-time and part-time MBA programs for both its general and specialised concentration degrees. These degrees can be finished within one to five years, depending on your schedule.

The specialised courses include MBA degrees in accounting, digital marketing, financial technology, supply chain analytics, and information management and data analytics. 

These diverse and unique courses are hard to come by, making the university a great option for those wanting to explore deeper in their specific fields.

We also like how affordable these programs are. CityU offers the part-time MBA programs at $376,000 and the full-time program at $416,000. 

The university also has myriad scholarship programs that could easily cut thousands off your tuition fee, which is a plus.

We had the chance to talk to some MBA students at the university, and, like us, they liked the university’s affordability and diversity of options. However, they said that the number of security gates and personnel make them feel slightly uncomfortable.

Regardless, we believe that CityU is the perfect match for those looking for affordable specialised MBA degrees in Hong Kong.
