Pros

  • Offers dance classes daily
  • Employs 30 different professional dancers
  • Classes are easy to join and follow

Cons

  • There are no definite start points for the dance class

BeDREX is a dance studio that offers numerous dance classes in Hong Kong. We believe this variety of dance classes is one of their biggest strengths.

BeDREX teaches beginner choreography, jazz funk, hip hop, and contemporary dances. The dance studio offers 40 classes per week, and you can check their schedules conveniently on their website.

BeDREX sustains these dance classes by employing 30 professional dancers from different backgrounds. That’s a massive roster, and certainly sufficient to offer classes to suit just about anyone.

Another strength of the studio is that they offer these classes at an affordable price, with a session only costing around $100.

We like how these lessons happen daily, with anyone able to drop by at any time to learn. Despite not having a definite starting point, we found the classes easy to follow and beginner-friendly.

During our visit, we saw how neat, clean, and spacious the studio was. We found the dance instructors were very kind, patient, and professional.

We asked one of their students, and they said it is sometimes difficult being the sole English speaker in a class because everyone else speaks Cantonese. However, the instructors do their best to tell the necessary details in English to help them catch up.

Overall, we believe that BeDREX is a perfect match for beginner and advanced dancers who wish to learn different dances as conveniently and affordably as possible.

Pros

  • Numerous dance classes in different genres
  • Nearly 2 decades of teaching experience
  • Spacious and professional-looking studio

Cons

  • Dance classes are expensive

Infinity Dance Studio has been offering dance classes in Hong Kong since 2003. Although having nearly two years of experience is advantageous, we believe it is not the studio’s biggest strength.

Infinity’s biggest strength lies in its variety of dance classes.

The dance studio teaches contemporary dance, jazz funk, hip hop, popping, breaking, and more, which allows students with different interests to join in. They also offer dance classes to kids, which is a plus.

These lessons happen daily, making it easy for you to join in at your convenience. Although there are classes on weekdays, it is essential to note that most of these classes happen on Saturdays, making them more accessible to students.

We tried their classes once, and we found them fun and exciting. The instructors were kind and made the lessons stimulating from the very beginning.

Infinity Dance Studios employs over 20 different dance instructors, all of whom are proficient dancers in their genres. These dancers, along with the clean and professional-looking studios, made the classes worthwhile.

All things considered, we believe that Infinity Dance Studios’ dance classes are worth considering due to their variety. However, these classes may be more expensive compared to others as they start at around $1,000.

Pros

  • 45 different instructors
  • Nearly 2 decades of experience in dance instruction
  • Offers courses for aspiring professional dancers

Cons

  • Varying dance class schedules

Studiodanz is a professional dance studio that offers a wide range of dance classes in Hong Kong. Operating since 2003, Studiodanz seems to have several things that put them at an advantage compared to other dance studios.

One of these is their dance classes. Studiodanz offers most genres, including contemporary, breaking, popping, jazz funk, and more.

We found these lessons to be very beginner-friendly, but there are also classes suitable for more advanced dancers.

However, what really sets Studiodanz apart is its dance programs that train and develop those who wish to be professional dancers.

Studiodanz also conducts annual dance showcases and competitions to give its students stage experience that could propel their careers even further.

Another thing we like about the dance studio is its roster of 45 different instructors, all of whom are professionals in their own fields with years of teaching experience.

We found these instructors to be kind and patient, especially with beginners.

We also appreciate how clean, spacious, and accessible the studio is (it’s just a walk away from the nearby train station). The studio also requires students to sanitize their shoes on the way in, which is a plus.

With these in mind, we believe that Studiodanz is a dance studio worth considering, especially if you wish to learn a variety of dances without breaking the bank. Each of their classes is affordable, with discounts available for students in university or secondary school.

Pros

  • Affordable dance classes
  • Private classes available

Cons

  • Limited dance genres

Dance With Style is a dance studio in Hong Kong that offers more graceful dancing genres, specifically Salsa and Bachata. Although their classes are more limited compared to other dance studios, we believe they are still worth considering.

What we like best is the way Dance With Style offers its classes. The dance studio teaches Salsa and Bachata by skill level.

The classes are divided into absolute beginner, improver, intermediate, and advanced, which allows students to grow at their own pace. These classes are usually done in four weeks.

That said, Dance With Style also caters to students who cannot commit to a straight four-week program by allowing them to drop in at any time and pay accordingly.

Speaking of payments, the studio’s classes are highly affordable, with classes starting at around $500. The studio also offers discounts if you pay a month before the course begins.

On our visit, we found the dance instructor professional, passionate, and easy to follow. The studio was clean and neat, too, which is a plus.

If you do not want to immediately join group classes, you can also hire the studio to teach you in private, 1-on-1 sessions. We believe that this offer is best for those avoiding the pandemic and those who wish to practice for their wedding dance.

Overall, Dance With Style’s affordable dance classes and various offers and discounts make them the perfect choice for those looking for more intimate dances.

Pros

  • Two spacious locations
  • Affordable classes
  • Caters to all genders and ages

Cons

  • Teaches only ballet

Gravity Ballet primarily offers ballet dance classes in Hong Kong. Despite its genre limits, the dance studio has traits that make it worth considering.

We believe that Gravity Ballet’s biggest strength comes from its locations. Gravity has a studio in Yau Tsim Mong and Central with space of 1000 square feet each.

The spaces look even better in person than in the photos. They are clean and spacious, with high-quality sound systems, mirrors, and sturdy bars perfect for practice.

We also appreciate how they have complete equipment for resistance training, safe changing rooms, and monitored secure areas for personal items.

Aside from the studios, we also like Gravity Ballet’s dance classes. The studio employs professional ballet dancers that teach everything from beginner lessons to advanced performances.

These teachers have years of experience under their belt, with some even training abroad. It’s also worth noting that three are currently dancers for the Hong Kong Ballet.

We also appreciate how they teach all genders and ages, making their classes more accessible to everyone.

Lastly, Gravity Ballet seeks to make ballet dances accessible for everyone, which is why they offer 4-week packages ranging from $110-$130 per class.

Gravity Ballet’s multiple spacious locations, accessible training, and highly qualified instructors make them a place worth going to especially if you are looking for a graceful yet challenging dance genre.

Pros

Cons

  • Mainly focuses on aerial arts dancing only

If you’re looking for some of the most unique art dances in Hong Kong, then Pegasus Studio might be the best one for you. Their services revolve around teaching aerial arts such as the aerial hammock, aerial hoop, aerial silks, trapeze, and contortion.

Each of the classes has a variety of courses; for example, in their aerial hoop class you can drop in from either hoop foundations, hoop flow, and aerial intro. Some of the classes are great for newbies, and some are for advanced practitioners.

We highly advise anyone who is looking to try their aerial arts to learn contortion first, which they also offer since it guides you to become more flexible which is a must when learning the other dances.

As they continue to grow, they also hone their craft by regularly training during off-seasons in order to provide up-to-date teaching techniques. In addition, they are planning to do workshops in the future.

Cons

BallroomBees is a unique dance program designed to teach children ballroom dancing along with essential life skills. Founded by former “Strictly Come Dancing” professional Katya Virshilas and her world champion husband Klaus Kongsdal, the program focuses on coordination, musicality, social skills, and teamwork.

We like that many parents report significant improvements in their children’s confidence and self-esteem, both in dance and other areas such as school and sports. The program instills important social skills and etiquette, which children carry with them into other areas of their lives.

Furthermore, children have the opportunity to perform for their parents, showcasing the skills they have learned throughout the season. These performances are memorable events that celebrate the children’s hard work and progress.

Note though that depending on where you live, finding a nearby BallroomBees class might be challenging. Popular classes can fill up quickly, making it difficult to secure a spot in the desired time slot.

Overall, BallroomBees offers a comprehensive and engaging dance program that goes beyond teaching ballroom dancing to include the development of important life skills. The program’s structured yet fun approach, professional instruction, and emphasis on social etiquette make it a standout choice for parents looking to enroll their children in dance classes.
