Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Has a team of expert event planners
  • Offers three different venues
  • Scenic views of mountains and the ocean

Cons

  • Can be more expensive than non-hotel venues
  • Can be crowded due to tourists
  • Has a high volume of clients

For a location blessed with scenic views of mountains and the ocean, it’s a wonder that Auberge Discovery Bay is only a 25-minute ferry ride from Hong Kong’s Central district.

But its accessibility and views aren’t the only things that put Auberge on the map for the best wedding venues in Hong Kong. The hotel’s most significant selling point for those to be wed is the famous White Chapel.

The 16-metre tall chapel can host 60 banquet guests or 120 for the ceremony. We adore how the White Chapel is modern and sleek but still elegant, unlike traditional chapels.

The chapel’s design also complements its location, as the floor-to-ceiling glass windows give your wedding the perfect glimpse of a charming waterfront view. To add to the magic of the venue and the scenery, you can even have a horse-drawn open carriage transport you to the chapel.

But it’s nice to know that Auberge also offers other choices. If the White Chapel doesn’t suit your taste, you can check out the other two venues the hotel offers — the Grand Azure or the Marine.

Regardless of which venue you choose, we find it reassuring how you can rely on Auberge for event coordination. Their expert planners will handle the ceremony, customised menu, decorations, entertainment, and reception details.

The only weakness we see is that the White Chapel draws quite a crowd of tourists and other wedding clients. Therefore, if you choose this venue, we advise you to book as early as possible and ask if the surrounding area can be cordoned off on your wedding day.

Pros

  • Atmospheric environment
  • Suitable for intimate weddings
  • Private and secluded area
  • Accommodates different wedding vendors

Cons

  • Fewer amenities
  • Affordable rates
  • Not suitable for big weddings

One look at its past would tell you that Crown Wine Cellars has come a long way. Transforming the WWII facility into an exclusive club with one of the best wedding venues in Hong Kong is a feat we can’t help but admire.

Hidden in a valley in Shouson Hill, Crown Wine Cellars is a club that doubles as a world-class wine cellar. While the club is exclusive to its members, they have opened one of its reception areas for private events — The Conservatory.

We are simply awe-struck with how apt the venue’s ambience is for a wedding. Its glass ceilings and windows let in plenty of natural light, and its wooden floors and chandeliers bathe the venue in soft yellow light in the evening.

Fortunately, the colonial-styled conservatory works so well with its environment too. Surrounded and canopied by overhanging trees, the venue evokes a sense of beauty and enchantment that only nature can provide.

We must mention that the conservatory can only accommodate 30 guests. While this seems relatively small compared to other wedding venues, we have to say that it fits the venue’s appeal for intimate weddings.

However, we must also point out that Crown Wine Cellars only provides the venue. Therefore, this option may not be the best choice for you if you want a wedding venue that can handle event coordination, catering, and decor, among others.

Pros

  • Has many amenities on the yacht
  • Provides shuttle service
  • Offers wedding packages
  • Scenic views of Hong Kong’s skyline
  • Unique location

Cons

  • Base time for wedding packages is only four hours
  • May not be suitable for all guests
  • Limited menu customisations

For some couples, a wedding on land may not suffice. Float HK caters to that niche audience looking for a more adventurous and unique wedding venue in Hong Kong.

The 78 ft. long yacht provides its guests with an uninhibited view of Hong Kong’s famous skyline. Paired with the experience of sailing that few competitors offer, we can see why some couples choose this wedding venue.

Aside from its unique setting, we appreciate how Float HK offers services that most traditional wedding venues do.

With over 3,000 sq. ft. of space, Float provides a recreational boat that can fit up to 120 guests. Surprisingly, this space is bigger than what some traditional venues offer.

We also appreciate how the boat exudes the right amount of elegance needed. The yacht transforms into the perfect venue for a wedding on the seas with its classy entry stairs, decorations, and a glass ceiling.

It’s also impressive how many amenities Float has. With its al fresco bar, barbeque grill, dance floor, projector, sound system, and more, the yacht can cover both the ceremony and post-ceremony activities well.

It’s remarkable how pre-ceremony details are taken care of too. For example, Float offers a shuttle yacht service in their wedding packages, aside from the more conventional perks like several menu options.

However, despite all these good things, we couldn’t help but notice one glaring setback.

Float’s wedding packages have a base time limit of four hours. However, with wedding activities usually taking longer than that, we suggest preparing for any extension fees that will be further incurred.

Pros

  • Offers three wedding packages with generous perks
  • Provides a point person for coordination
  • Provides a taste test for catering menu

Cons

  • Can be expensive
  • Usually fully booked
  • Some of the venues have limited time frames for wedding ceremonies

Looking at its impressive facilities and location, we see how The Repulse Bay became one of the most expensive residential areas in Hong Kong.

Thankfully, some of their superb facilities are also available to non-residents, like their five wedding venues: the Front Lawn, Marquee, Secret Garden, Seaview Terrace, and the Verandah.

Having five venues to mix and match for your wedding’s ceremony and reception is already a plus in our book. But what we like even more is that regardless of your choice, you and your guests can still enjoy alfresco spaces, breathtaking sea views, and lush greenery.

It’s also nice to know that aside from the view, the venues feature elegant decor and heritage interiors that are well taken care of. The only real difference to consider is its capacity and feel.

Some venues are larger than others, like the Verandah, which can hold up to 216 guests for your reception. But fortunately, each one can host a good range of guests depending on the seating arrangement.

Lastly, we appreciate the level of care Repulse Bay shows. Aside from the three wedding packages with predetermined venue combinations and generous perks, they also assign a coordinator to help you with every wedding detail for your convenience.

All these good things and more made Repulse Bay one of the most popular wedding venues in Hong Kong. However, this also means that more couples seek Repulse Bay, which limits the time frames of some venues for wedding activities.

Pros

  • Offers wedding package with generous perks
  • Venues have varying floor plans
  • Wedding details are developed and planned by esteemed professionals

Cons

  • Expensive rates

Only a few venues can be as elegant as The Peninsula. And so, in our book, the esteemed hotel is one of the best wedding venues in Hong Kong for couples who want a grandiose theme.

That is what we specifically like about The Peninsula, and it leans into its strengths and amps up the old-world charm. Where else would you get a wedding package that includes being driven to the venue in a Rolls-Royce limousine?

Additionally, The Peninsula offers six venues designed with glamour and sophistication. You’ll see it in the carpeted floors, elaborate ceilings, ornate chandeliers, and multi-faceted floor plans of their venues, especially the famous Salisbury Room.

But we also appreciate that not all their venues are like that, nor are they all indoors. The Peninsula also offers more modern or outdoor venues like Felix, Garden Suite, and Sun Terrace.

And just like any high-end wedding vendor, these venues vary in capacity depending on the seating arrangement, which could help you host a good range of guests — anything from 18 to 200.

As we expected, it’s not only the venues that benefit from the hotel’s prestige since a hotel of this calibre has personnel who are just as excellent in their field.

It’s reassuring to know you’ll get to work with their Banquet Chef, Chief Sommelier, Executive Pastry Chef, florist, and Maître Chocolatier. Through one-on-one meetings with them, The Peninsula plans to give you a planned and personalized wedding to the last detail.

However, all these premium things come at a price. So, be ready to spend hundreds of thousands if you choose The Peninsula as a wedding venue.
