One of the things we like about DNA Lab is that their offices are highly accessible. All you have to do is walk for a minute from the Yau Ma Tei MTR Exit A1, and you will find their laboratories.

Another thing we like about the clinic is that they offer a variety of DNA testing services to find parentage and lineage. They also provide services that could determine the father of an unborn child and whether or not twins are fraternal or identical.

We also appreciate that these services are relatively affordable, with most costing around $1,000. However, more complex processes, such as the prenatal DNA test, could cost you over $10,000.

We also like how DNA Lab uses state-of-the-art equipment, which they claim that the US Federal Bureau of Investigations use. 

We like this because not only can you use blood or saliva to test DNA, but also cigarette butts, blood spatters, and other special samples to find a person’s identity or lineage.

The laboratory can also certify these documents if you intend to use them in court, which we believe is a plus.

GenePro Dnagnostic Technology is a laboratory and clinic that offers numerous services related to DNA testing in Hong Kong. Established in 1999, GenePro has been offering its services for two decades and seems to have developed some advantages over other companies.

GenePro’s services are one of its biggest strengths. The laboratory’s services cover not only relationship-related tests but also legal profiling and health-related DNA tests. 

The laboratory establishes kinship, aids in forensics, and helps diagnose infections such as HPV and other STDs, making them a one-stop shop for all DNA testing needs.

We also like GenePro’s quick turnaround time. Starting from the time of your DNA test, you can get the results within 36 to 48 hours. 

You can also expedite the process by paying a small fee. GenePro’s express service will have your results ready within 24 hours.

The laboratory also offers an at-home DNA testing service, where you can ship samples of your DNA from your home and receive the results after two to three days. Even if the results from this test do not hold water in court, GenePro says the process yields the same results as the in-person tests.

This number of branches allows you to access their diagnostics and DNA tests wherever you are in Hong Kong.

During our visit, we only had to wait for a few minutes before we had our turn. We thought we were lucky, but a PathLab client we interviewed said that there usually is no wait whenever they visit, too.

Another thing we like about the laboratories is their wide variety of DNA tests. However, it is essential to note that these tests are primarily to find diseases and infections such as gonorrhoea, HIV, herpes, and others.

PathLab also looks for DNA mutations for certain bacteria, such as antibacterial resistance and more.
