Another aspect we like is their simple registering process. All a client has to do is complete their short application form, which can be accessed online, and Sleek will take care of the rest.

As for their rates, we think they offer competent pricing, as they feature fixed rates for unlimited services. 

We also appreciate how their corporal secretary plans are in accordance with the number of the client’s shareholders. 

Basically the fewer the shareholders, the cheaper their annual payment will be. In our books, this setup allows small businesses to avail of their services!

Our only gripe with Sleek is their responsiveness as we’ve found that it’s sometimes quite hard to get ahold of them on their channels. 

For instance, they’ll take up to 24 hours just to respond via email, which can be bothersome for some clients. While this incident doesn’t happen regularly, we hope they can still improve on this aspect so their clients can have a more seamless experience.

We like how they feature a bare-bones package that consists of a secretary’s basic tasks. These include keeping company records safe and processing officer appointments and resignations.

Plus, we think it’s commendable that they prepare and file documentation for binding corporate actions like company resolutions—an added point for convenience!

Many clients we surveyed also commended Hawksford for providing legal assistance and clearly communicating the Companies Ordinance of the Laws of Hong Kong to them.

On the downside, one of the things we don’t like about Hawksford is that its “complete” package feels somewhat lacklustre. 

For instance, we found that requesting for an additional service that doesn’t come with their package will cost an additional fee. Some clients we spoke with mentioned this aspect lessened the company’s appeal. 

And if we’re really nitpicking faults here, one thing we would like to improve is how they handle statutory compliance dates. In our surveys, several respondents mentioned Hawksford only reminded them of the deadlines instead of doing the task.

Nonetheless, we think Hawksford’s services excels most for their clients who avail of their yearly package since they’re given free consultations. We think this is a useful feature to have access to 24/7.

Osome was a name that kept popping up when we were doing our research, and we weren’t surprised! For starters, we think it’s great that they partner up their clients with one of their tenured secretaries who have 10+ years of experience from the get-go.

And we like how these outsourced secretaries are easily accessible anytime via live chat and they’ll respond as soon as possible—a great feature to have for companies!

One thing we noted, however, is that some secretaries take longer to respond because they operate at a different timezone. 

On the upside, many clients we surveyed commended their reliability, especially in ensuring that all paperwork like statutory registers are updated, even when the company evolves. 

In our books, this aspect is a green flag, since it’s one of the key responsibilities for complying with the law.

Furthermore, we noticed how many clients praised their meticulous work at filing statutory returns, which include annual and tax returns. This task requires accuracy, and we applaud Osome’s secretaries for being on time and ensuring a smooth process. 

However, we just feel a bit down about Osome’s pricey plans. The cheapest plan they offer already sits more than HK$1,000 and this doesn’t include corporate actions and compliance add-ons.

We think OneStart Offices is one of the most accessible options in Hong Kong for company secretaries, thanks to their easy-to-reach customer service. 

In our books, it’s a huge plus that clients can connect with them in real time via WhatsApp. Also, they can also provide free quotations in the app—a plus for convenience!

Moreover, we like that OneStart Offices offers one of the most affordable company secretarial plans in Hong Kong today. For instance, their economic package starts at just HK$600 per year, followed by their basic package which costs HK$1,200 annually.

Upon checking out the inclusions in the packages, we were happy to find that the economic package features services such as taking on the role of company secretary, submission of business certificate registration, etc. 

Meanwhile, we found their entry-level plan impressive as well, as the secretarial services for this package includes tasks such as updating company record books and preparing annual general meetings.

And as for their process and setup, we like their expert secretaries’ accuracy and reliability. 

Although we love the budget-friendly price of the economic package, we’re a bit iffy that some essential secretarial tasks, such as change of branch name and transfer of shares, are locked behind the premium plan. 

Next on our list is Acclime, a trusted company services provider in Asia-Pacific, with locations in over 20 countries. With their solid global presence, we set out to see why they’re a top pick!

For starters, we noted that Acclime gives business owners a stress-free experience when they avail of their services. 

From what we’ve seen, their claims are true, given they provide all the annual requirements in a single package for a single annual fee.

We also like how this package includes tasks such as safekeeping a company’s record books. Plus, we think their safekeeping tactics are convenient, as they keep documents online to make sure that a copy always exists and allow signatures to be done digitally.

Another thing we like about Acclime is how they keep track of deadlines and the annual filing of statutory forms. The secretary appointed to their clients makes sure that fees and dates are met on time and accurately.

Furthermore, they’re also responsible for arranging annual general meetings for companies, and also document the minutes and the resolution.

As for its downsides, we could name just one. We didn’t like how some services weren’t included in the essential company plan but instead were placed in a separate category called ad-hoc, which required one-off payments.

Several clients we surveyed mentioned that some of their services, like preparation of other meetings (aside from AGM) and filing of company changes, should already come with the package.
