Top 15 Physiotherapists in Hong Kong

Registration. Only board-certified physiotherapists are allowed to practice, and we picked those that are merited to do so.

Qualifications. These qualifications verify a physiotherapist’s expertise in clinical diagnosis and treatment. This can be pursued through postgraduate studies.

Professional development. Physiotherapists are required to take part in training, courses, and seminars to ensure they are updated with the latest research developments for the most effective treatment practices.

Location. Another factor to put in mind is the clinic’s location, especially for patients with chronic conditions or injuries, since this can affect musculoskeletal problems.

Pros

  • Experienced physiotherapists
  • Treatment of sports or spinal injuries
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Expert team

Cons

Physiologic was founded in 2021 by Ryan Tan, their Physiotherapist and Clinical Director.

This clinic was founded on the goal of delivering healthcare that will allow their patients to reclaim their life from Sports or Spinal Injuries.

We like how they work closely with their patients to achieve their full athletic potential and feel like their normal selves again.

They’ve worked with a range of clientele, from elite athletes to clients with complex and chronic injuries.

We think it’s great that they work closely with some of Hong Kong’s top Spinal and Orthopaedic Surgeons for a more collaborative treatment and rehabilitation of their clients.

What we like is how they get to the root of the problem and fix that to prevent recurring problems.

What’s more is they carefully analyze and diagnose problems to come up with the best possible approach.

Their team is one that truly cares about their patients and that’s something we appreciate about them. They’re dedicated to anyone who seeks help from them and that’s always nice to find.

Many clients are happy with their experience with Physiologic. We highly recommend!

Pros

  • Multilingual practitioners
  • Comfortable, welcoming clinic
  • Internationally trained therapists
  • Followers a personalised progressive treatment plan for each patient

Cons

  • Few complaints for overcharging
  • Minor complaints about late paperwork and documentation for insurance purposes

Hong Kong Sports Clinic (HKSC) was founded by Joseph March, a registered physiotherapist. The clinic is run by a team of internationally trained therapists.

They cover a wide range of comprehensive services for personalised physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness.

Their team is composed of certified clinicians, coaches, and therapists, and everyone can speak multiple languages, so communication isn’t such a problem.

It was relatively easy to get in touch with them through the phone, although their contact page is a much preferred way to reach them.

Located within the Li Dong Building at Central, the clinic itself is pretty accessible and their hours aren’t that bad at all since they close at around 9PM.

What we like about them most is that they always make sure to cater to each patient during the day, so it’s important to set up an appointment since they’re quite strict about walk-ins.

Additionally, they’re very particular about safe and evidence-based physiotherapeutic practices, and that itself gives us the assurance that we need.

Each of their therapists have their own preferences when it comes to treatment, but it’s worth noting how they’re able to refer each individual patient to the right practitioner if needed.

Apart from knowing how capable their team of professionals are, we like them for their warm persona and the clinic’s overall warm vibe.

Pros

  • A part of the Prohealth Asia Network
  • Featured in South China Morning Post
  • Liv Wellness and Lifestyle Awards: Best Physiotherapist

Cons

  • Minor complaints about their rates

Prohealth Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy Centre has been operating since 2000, focusing on musculoskeletal injuries through physical therapy.

Firstly, one of the things we find worth noting is that their clinical practices are based on the most recent research and best practices.

From manual therapy and manipulations to sports-specific assessment and rehabilitation and conditioning, we find their team of therapists to be highly dependable.

In addition, all of their therapists are duly qualified in their specific practice and have experienced working internationally.

Location-wise, they have clinics in Wellington Street and in Jardine House. We find the one in Jardine House to be the most visited, and it’s our preferred one too for its accessibility.

They’ve also been featured in a number of media outlets in Hong Kong and have received awards for their service.

Other than that, Prohealth Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy Centre is a part of the Prohealth Asia Network, a chain of physiotherapy clinics in cities like Manila, New Delhi, and Singapore.

We’ve heard a lot of good reviews about them, and we now know why they’ve become one of Hong Kong’s renowned physiotherapy clinics.

Given their qualifications and continuous professional development, we can see why a lot of Hong Kongers prefer their services.

  • Highly personalised treatment

Cons

  • Minor complaint about their pricing
  • Clinic can get crowded sometimes

Joint Dynamics is one of Hong Kong’s leading physiotherapy clinics.

They have a whole team of highly capable therapists that specialise in their own field. They have physiotherapists, professional personal trainers, and stretch and massage therapists.

Their services span from physiotherapy to sports psychology, nutrition, sleep consultation, and ergo dynamics, among others.

Their clinic is located at the Asia Standard Tower, and it comes with excellent facilities and complete with equipment needed for specific exercises.

We’ve heard a lot of great feedback from their clients, and a lot of them have been coming back to the clinic for over 3 years.

It’s really telling of how well they take care of their patients and pay attention to each of their specific needs, and we can see that they’re dedicated to providing tailor made treatment.

Another one of the most notable things about them is their corporate wellness program, where they host wellness days for companies and their staff.

We think this is a great take on work-life balance, as a lot of people don’t realise how much their daily activities affect their physiological wellness.

All in all, we think their holistic take on physiotherapy and their work as a team provides an effective treatment when it comes to musculoskeletal concerns.

Pros

  • Expat Living Readers’ Choice Awards 2022: Best Physiotherapist
  • Wellness & Lifestyle Awards 2022
  • Highly qualified doctors and clinicians (registered internationally)

Cons

  • More expensive than other clinics

Momentum is a health clinic that was founded by Dr. Kieran Rogers, an HK and AUS registered doctor of physiotherapy who specialises in proactive recovery approach, sports rehabilitation, and chronic disease management.

Their team is composed of rather young doctors and clinicians, and while this may be off putting for some, we find them to be really proficient in healthcare.

Their approach may seem new to some, but we like how they focus on holistic care practices that are evidence-based.

From physiotherapy, chiropractic services, massage and stretch therapies, as well as other allied healthcare services like pain management and chronic disease management, they have clinicians specialising in each field.

Their clinic is located at Winsome House, and it’s a beautiful space that really embodies their principle in holistic treatment.

Price-wise, they can be more expensive in comparison to other physiotherapy clinics, but a lot of their clients have attested to their capabilities, even saying that it’s worth the price.

Other than that,we don’t think it’d be such a problem if your insurance covers it. Paying well for good service especially in healthcare is an investment in itself.

Overall, we like their approach and method, and we love it feels like we belong to a supportive community whenever we’re in their clinic.

Pros

  • Specialises on sports rehabilitation
  • Great place for athletes and sports enthusiast
  • Fairly priced than other clinics

Cons

  • Some equipment appear lived in and dated

CoreOFit Physiotherapy has over 30 years of experience in providing comprehensive physical therapy services.

They’re known in Hong Kong for their services specialising in sports, particularly rugby, running, adventure racing, soccer, hockey, netball, squash, tennis, skiing, and snowboarding.

Other than that, they also have office ergonomics, post-op rehabilitation, orthotics, pre- and postnatal core, and custom training programs.

But we think that what really sets them apart from other clinics is how they focus on getting to the root problem of an injury or concern.

Most feedback from their clients have attested to this, and although their method takes more time than others, it seems to work well.

We’ve heard about how excellently spot on their prognosis is, along with evidence and a thorough treatment plan to present to their patients.

Their team of clinicians are definitely highly experienced and highly qualified to do their job, and everyone at the clinic was also very welcoming.

They carried themselves well and always answered our questions with finesse. They did a good job doing our overall assessment.

Finally, their clinic at the Honest Building in Causeway Bay has everything you’d need for a thorough assessment. Although some are quite dated, they have the necessary equipment for certain exercises.

Aside from this, they also employ tailor-made treatment plans that are specifically crafted for the specific concerns, conditions, and situation of the client with the aid of their highly accurate assessments and evaluations.

Note though that rates of their treatments and consultations aren’t readily available on their website to which interested clients may need to inquire further for more information on this.

Pros

  • With certification in Hong Kong and the UK
  • Uses four major PT techniques
  • Their PT is a detail-oriented communicator
  • Provides yoga classes for small groups

Cons

  • Shorter availability on Saturdays
  • Closed on Sundays

Ascolto Studio Physiotherapy Yoga’s Ivy Mok is among our top picks for your next physiotherapist in Hong Kong.

Their physiotherapist (PT) is certified in the UK, too. Because of this, we feel reassured that her knowledge and techniques are up to international standards.

She also employs 4 main techniques to engage the body’s soft tissues – visceral, neural, and vascular manipulation, alongside the new manual articular approach.

We like that there are multiple options to help people with different health problems. This could be for restoring the nervous system, releasing tension, improving blood circulation, and so on.

Several clients we talked to liked Ivy’s informative assistance as well.

For us, choosing a practitioner who can share as much useful information as possible is best to maintain better health. This way, worse conditions may also be prevented in the future.

They provide yoga class schedules for wellness enthusiasts, too – though only for small groups. Still, we think this is valuable since their PT has been learning yoga since 2007.

Should you be interested, Ascolto Studio Physiotherapy Yoga is open 6 days a week, except on Sundays. If you’re available only on a Saturday, we suggest booking in advance since the studio closes 3 hours earlier on this day.

Pros

  • Offers a bunch of holistic services
  • Diverse team of professionals and gyms
  • Can speak 3 languages
  • Hands-on and thorough with assessments

Cons

  • Unavailable on Sundays
  • Strict with their appointment times
  • Their location can be filled with many people

If you’re looking out for your child’s well-being, we recommend SPOT as one of our top physiotherapist clinics in Hong Kong.

They provide numerous services which we believe are holistic and essential in kids’ development. This involves psychology, counselling, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and specialist teaching.

Their multidisciplinary team and their 5 sensory integration gyms also give us confidence that they can provide quality services.

On top of that, we applaud that they can give trilingual assessment, therapy, and parental communication in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. This makes them better communicators and more accommodating to many clients.

But to understand what your child needs, they offer 3 types of assessments. These may take from 45 minutes to 3 hours (over 2 days) but we feel this is necessary to know the best solutions to your concerns.

Just remember that they’re strict with punctuality. If a client is more than 15 minutes late, the appointment will be automatically cancelled or charged, so it’s advisable to allot more time for an early visit.

SPOT is pretty accessible 6 days a week, only except on Sundays. Nonetheless, we think their space can be a bit crowded since it’s near other shopping establishments.

  • Holistic and integrative approach
  • Variety of ailments treated
  • Wide range of treatments available
  • Knowledgeable team

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

Alive Wellness is a renowned therapy center in Hong Kong that has been helping many of their clients improve their health and attaining holistic wellbeing.

This center focuses on an integrative approach to healing by getting their clients to open up emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

And this is exactly what we like about them—that they treat the whole person. They work to discover the root cause to every problem rather than simply treating the symptoms.

They specialize in treating ailments such as chronic pain, sports injuries, anxiety, depression, emotional wellbeing, women’s health, chronic stress, and more.

They’re able to treat these through their various therapies like physiotherapy, acupuncture, energy healing, meditation, and mentoring, to name a few.

We’re really impressed by the range of their treatments and services. We think that a holistic approach to health is the best way to achieve overall wellness so we like how they focus on this.

You won’t be disappoint with their team as well because they’re very welcoming and knowledgeable. They know exactly what they’re doing and how to help you!

We vouch for this center and highly recommend!

  • Reasonable rates

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

Integrated Body Therapies was founded by Tobias Lee in May 2018 wherein he offers his clients a wide range of services including psychotherapy, rehabilitation, pre-natal & post-natal care, and many more.

Integrated Body Therapies particularly excels in his physiotherapy treatments. They give physiotherapy for the world’s current situations. With a more modern and better approach to health, their physiotherapists will be able to detect the problem and collaborate on a treatment plan and rehabilitation program to alleviate the pain or discomfort as soon as feasible. They will ensure that the patient fully knows their condition and how to manage and minimize additional injuries or stresses.

Because a great physiotherapy service necessitates an excellent rehabilitation program, their rehabilitation is the process of restoring performance and function to pre-injury levels and beyond. To propel progress, rehabilitation entails a progressive exercise regimen interwoven with tissue work. It is what primarily distinguishes Integrated Body Therapies apart from others.
