Description
English: Inauguration of Bridges between Mainz and Wiesbaden
Deutsch: Kaiser Wilhelm II. und Großherzog Ernst Ludwig bei der Einweihung der Kaiserbrücke zwischen Mainz und Wiesbaden am 1. April 1904
  • Die Aufnahme entstand am 1. April 1904 bei der Einweihung der "Kaiserbrücke", einer Eisenbahnbrücke über den Rhein zwischen der Mainzer Neustadt und Mainz-Amöneburg, an der Kaiser Wilhelm II. und Großherzog Ernst Ludwig und bei Rhein teilnahmen. Sie sind etwa in der Bildmitte (in Uniformmänteln und mit Pickelhaube) zu sehen. Rechts ist eine militärische Einheit in Paradeuniform angetreten, links vor dem Zug eine Gruppe von Teilnehmern und Offiziellen. Bei dem links haltenden Zug handelt es sich um den Hofzug Kaiser Wilhelms II. mit dem kaiserlichen Salonwagen.
